Report a translation problem
that might be happening because there's another separate spell you need for crossing:
Walk on Water
You need to get treasure map #1 from Isayah, either buy from him or kill him
(don't haggle too low a price, or you can't do either).
And then you can dig it up at theAncient CIty Central Square
It wasn't to do with casting it near the water, it didn't work on the map at all. I didn't want to keep editing my post like a sad lil' muffin, but I actually managed to break the game even FURTHER and prevented usage of phase in the Shakespear/Crow room and the area with the Human Hydra/Tortur. I presumed it was because I warped in the collapsed mines and somehow loaded the non-collapsed room and escaped.
Reloading an earlier save amended this. And by reloading I mean I wandered back in on accident and died.
Regarding the water room, I'd love to test if I broke reality too hard in my playthrough prior to the cave-in glitching, but I'm not ready for another round of this game while spamming for empty scrolls...
