That older version, she's smiling and being more chill.
The newer version, she is much more upset, and has an animation of falling to ground,
looks like a heart attack seizure or worse. Pretty awful really.
Nothing compared to what happens afterwards.
But either way, you could argue she's being possessed by the God of the Depths etc.
I think it's unfair to consider the unnamed girl a bad or evil person just for this final shocking event. Especially considering her earlier behavior and interactions in the game are timid, at worst. Besides, we don't have any way of knowing that she happily or even willingly transformed into the personification of fear and hunger. But I think she hates it.
