However there are 2 other ways to get this issue. One being a gameplay feature and the other being a glitch.
If a creature blinded you then the game is supposed to be black and you might as well load an old save. The only way to cure blindness is through becoming a marriage or through a specific moment in the game where you sell the girl.
The other is a glitch where a specific possessed weapon will cause a party member to turn on you. If it gets to combat, it will be bugged and the game will go to a black screen and the combat with that party member will auto-complete. The way to fix this cause of the black screen is to find a different combat and just leave or defeat that one as the trigger to remove the black screen will start working again.
