I greatly appreciate your taking the time to respond, I was wandering the thicket endlessly, and getting extremely tired of it.
Thank you very much for the heads up! I'll keep an eye out for anything I'm missing, but so far it's going surprisingly well.
You need the three souls of the New Gods, the Soul of the Endless one, the Enlightened one and the Tormented one.
Here's how to get them:
Endless: Go take a nap in the Tower of the Endless in the Past
Enlightened: Solve the statue puzzle in the City Library in the Past and chase Valteil into his abyss of precious knowledge
Tormented: Go to the Temple of Torment in the Past, sacrifice a companion by flaying their skin at the torture chamber (while avoiding Chambara and not straying too far from the mechanism) and then leave the temple.
Incredible tip, thank you. I have not yet got to the first two, as my work schedule has left me busy but I did find for Torment
There's another option to solve the torture chamber.
edit: I mean, I was already sold on the game, but the depth and the options are just incredible. Everywhere you look there's something you can do about an issue.
Also, I've been stuck on Torment in The Chambara fight. First sequence is no problem, but his special moves are a pain in my entire life.
You're not meant to fight Chambara in the torture chamber but as you leave.
In the first phase throw poison darts at him since it will remain on him even in his "second" phase, then jam the rings to make the centre vulnerable. Hope and pray (or use a sauced up skeleton) that he doesn't flay your skin off
edit: that does explain it, considering how egregiously difficult it becomes otherwise
