Feel Free to share any tips here.
I've been playing up until right before reaching the midgame area, I got a general understanding of what this game is about but are there any tips or mechanics I should know about?

For Example: Blueberries heal you a tiny bit as well as restoring hunger

Edit: I may have already gotten an answer but if anyone wants to share with the rest of the community feel free to do so

You may know some of these already but without spoiling to much:
• Holding shift during a coin flip will double your coin
• Hunger will only negatively impact you at 50
• Besides key items, the Blank Scrolls can give you almost anything in the game. They also don't require All-merr's affinity.
• If your character is attacked with a coin flip/heavy attack whilst blocking, it will be avoided.
• Poison and burning are VERY powerful.
• Certain specific character endings are tied only to Hard mode.

Enjoy the game!

Does hard mode mean Terror and Starvation or the Harder difficulty?

The harder one.

Guards Rushdown attack can be completely nullified by guarding and they use that attack on the second turn, and after that once every 3 turns.
The way to kill a meat cleaver guard with minimal risk is to cut off their cleaver arm, then guard, then cut off their "stinger" then guard on every third turn. If you do not cut off both arms they will not tackle you.

Wait until Hunger 2 (30ish) to feed your people, and only feed them with cooked meals before you're about to enter a fight. There's a guide here that goes into detail about which food items are not part of a recipe, so just to quote your example, I'd save those blueberries to bake them into blueberry pies which not only sates much more hunger, it also heals a bit more.

It's noteworthy that the hunger debuffs go away a few seconds after you feed your character, so make sure not to do so immediately before a fight, but you can certainly hold off on feeding them until you need to.
