How do i deal with infections?

I feel like infections of the arms and legs is so common in the game, and i only have a few green herbs to use them...is there a way to make or buy more green herbs?

Kill Salmonsnake in the Mines, get its soul. Anytime infected (or bleeding) equip the soul, and boom. Healed. You can keep it equipped to prevent the status altogether as well, and it stops limb loss when equipped.
