What's with Marriage???

As Ragnvaldr on terror and starvation difficulty try to make a marriage with D'Arce, but "show love" option leads to game over with caption "Things didn't go as planned". What am I supposed to do to perfrom Marriage without ending the game?

did you pray on the circle beforehand? if so, the "things didn't go as planned" game over is normal

ive heard some say its becuase you prayed for sylvian, multiple gods, or just prayed at all no idea which is right though
