Dev appreciation thread
Miro, you are a beautiful, beautiful man.

This game is rough, buggy, and its writing simply bleeds for an editor (and I certainly hope you succeed in the ordeal of putting a script together to make editing work possible - perhaps I will throw my hat in the ring once the ground is ready for great becoming) but at the end of the day its the player's experience that counts... and my experience was one of obscene profundity.

But above all, your work is one of the best examples of games created by a single auteur with some great and horrific ideas. Quite frankly, you are an inspiration (and ♥♥♥♥ you, Dad, for your insistence that I stop working on my interpretive dance degree!).

Here's to rough gems, my nordic cupcake!

Why does he need an editor?

To be clear, I in no way begrudge the dev for the state of the game's writing. English is not everyone's first language and there are indeed many native English speakers whose vocabulary is worse than Miro's. That being said, anyone familiar with the language will take issue with the game's writing. It is a testament to how much I enjoyed the game's ideas and characters that I persevered despite this, which is why I say that the game *deserves* to be edited. And to the developer's great credit, he readily acknowledges this, and I wish him best of luck in this endeavour.

yes! this! i SO agree with everything you said there. this game is hands down my favorite rpg-maker-esque game of all time and to me is up there with really intricate and dark fantasy dungeon crawlers.

haha thanks for the appreciation! :D Weird seeing topics like these, but I'm glad you guys are liking the game.

I agree that the game needs an editor and/or proofreading for sure. I used to think my English was alright, but when I started making the game I realized it's not quite as simple as having conversations on random message boards or such. I think my writing is improving, but outside people giving constructive criticism is never a bad idea.

i just saw someone play it on twitch and im blown away - wtf why is this game so under the radar? the art is amazing it reminds me of berserk or a junji Ito manga - i hope we see another game like this by the devs with sort of a Divine Divinity (the original) look to it one day.

I think the game is underrated because of its adult content. It might be hidden for a lot of steam users.

Also, I never seen or heard of this game before until I was searching for similar games to LISA. Someone suggested Fear & Hunger and I bought it instantly. I love the game and can't wait for the future of the franchise!

This game have it's bugs, but it's REALLY awesome.
It's really sweet to see some RPG Maker games coming out like this.
You're the MVP!

Fantastic game... Cold blooded, scary and interesting lore. Very Lovecraftian! Bravo.

Agree. Fantastic experience!

The game is fantastic, but right now still feels very incomplete. There's a lot of loose ends in the game still that haven't been addressed.

Considering how much work the developer put in to the game, I would have no problem with the developer making a expanded version of this game, with significantly more content and paying for it again.

They deserve to continue to get support (and money) from this game.

Hey Kuehnau, I still got plans to keep on updating the game with larger expansions too, but I've been busy with the sequel for a while now. Bigger expansions to the first game will be built on a longer span of time on the side. There are some loose ends, like the moon god you mentioned, and some of them will get further explored.

The reason I'm working on the sequel is because I think it could attract more new audience at this point and I just feel like working on something fresh for a change after spending past few years on the first game.

Just curious, what is the sequel's engine? RPG Maker or...? Planning to buy the sequel too when it comes out but preparing myself for maybe higher game specs.

@wintersachi, it's going to be RPG Maker again. I'm using the same modified setup I got running with the first game. Although there are some new additions to the gameplay that probably affect a lot as far as the overall gameplay feel is concerned. Also since I got better idea on what I want to have in the game, I can be more efficient with things.

So if the first game works fine, I think the sequel will too. There are few effects that might make it a bit more demanding, but they are not present all the time.

@orange, thanks for the quick answer! If it's RPG Maker then I'm certain everything'll work smooth on my end, even with tons of events on a map, additional mechanics and effects.
Looking forward!
