So, with the mannequins, using the depths stone or whatever, you can switch between the city's time line or whatever it is. And you can go back to the current time line to see three of the mannequins, but there's two missing.
If you continue to explore the city, you'll find two other rooms with the other two missing mannequins. The door leads to one of the New Gods.
You may or may not need to do this puzzle in order to progress. You'll need at least three souls in order to be able to continue further in the game and you can find these souls either by killing the other New Gods, or by recruiting other party members. The Little Girl also has a soul, but you'll have to let her die via combat and use a soul stone on her in order to collect it.
Remember the character classes you choose from when you start a new game? Every one of these classes are actually characters that can be encountered in the game and recruited in to your party, each one of them can actually have another soul and when they join your party, you'll have access to that soul even if it doesn't show up in your inventory.
If you have Mastery Over Insects and battle the scarab and talk to it ("Wait. We don't have to fight!"). The scarab agrees and says that "We, insects must stick together!" and stops fighting. I'm not sure if it can join your party or not but it didn't for the video cause the guy had a full party already.
So I found a use for talking (well actually several).
In order to recruit Moonless, you'll have to feed her rotten meat. In order to do that, you'll need to use the talk command, but then when it lets you choose a topic, "feed meat" will be one of them.
Also, in the game is a enemy, a beheaded Wizard. I do not believe there is any way to kill it or the anicent demon it summons, but, if you have a eclipse pendant and then talk to them every turn until the end of combat, you'll be rewarded with unique dialog and they will ask you to knlee before them, if you do, you'll be able to add them to your party.
Using talk when encountering one of the new gods will open up unique dialog where they will ask you questions, if you answer them correctly, it deals 500+ damage to them.
There may be more situations like this in the game, but I've played and beat it about a dozen times now and I haven't found any other uses yet.
The Dark Priest has access to Pyro Trick at the beginning of the game depending on your choices and it's easily one of the best early starter spells. It does a lot of damage and has like a 70% hit rate. Combustion is also really good, does even more damage, doesn't use any MIND, but has a slight chance of blowing a limb off in the process.
The Mercenary can outright enemies if you chose the right choices at character creation, as well as lockpick and backstab on top of it, like someone else said.
The Knight can start off with a full set of really good defensive gear that can protect you from having your legs cut off or damaged and also starts off with a pretty good sword on top of it.
While you take that all in to consideration, there are a few things to consider:
1. Dialog and events may change in the game based on who you play as.
2. Anyone of the classes can learn any skill
The second one is really important, since having access to quills and empty scrolls means that you can also have access to almost any skill, ability or item in the game, which means, depending on how lucky you are, will allow you to fill out any of the characters pretty well.
Don’t skip the intro
Try things and die
Books of enlightenment are one shot
Take your chances with the save
Once you’ve killed the crow mauler your saves are no longer coin flips
Having trouble with crow bro? What battle items might you have?
You can pick up that stuff on the ground-herbs n mushrooms etc
You need to first increase your affinity with each God in order to be able to earn new skills. You can do that by performing tasks that pleases a god, these can include:
Making love in a circle
Making love in the bunny grove
Sacrificing a life in a circle
Offering your own blood in a circle
Eating Flesh with the Coyote Tribe
Sacrificing Person on Alter on floor 2 of the dungeon
Performing quests for the Cockroach King
Praying at Statues
Also, keep in mind that with prayer, I believe it works only once, so you can't pray multiple times, for multiple gods.
Also, the God of Depths is currently impossible to get full affinity with unless you also start as the Dark Priest. All of the other Gods you can get full affinity with just by performing tasks in the dungeons.
As your affinity grows with a God, when you check a Hex table, you'll see a blue aura extend to and sometimes past those skill spots on the hex table. You won't be able to unlock those spells or skills until the aura reaches a certian point.
Once it does, you'll need to use souls in order to actually unlock them. You earn souls by using empty soul stones to trap the souls of enemies you've killed.
You can also use the scrolls to ask the Gods to teach you skills and spells. But they are not all accessable and some of them won't work properly unless you've earned them properly (Blood Portal is one of them).
Thanks this is exacly what I needed.
You need a purification talisman. You either find them, buy them or start with one based on your class and intro choices.
