Too slow
I saw only a few post about this problem and I'm confused, how did you guys play with higher customers number?

Me and my GF had to stop because it was taking too much, about an hour every days and it's kinda tedious. Any tips about how to play it without going crazy?

I literally started throwing things to costumers to pass time . _ .

Äh, had today the same issue. During the day only a handfull customers came in (apart from the rush hour after opening) and I was wondering while a large group of customer was still standing in front of the Restaurant and turned in one by one with a not common break per customer.

Close to end of the day when I started not to fill up new dishes and added only something on request (that is easy done with microwave and pre-cooked food) one lonley soul came in again. And afterwards it felt like a large coffee-ride-bus turned in at last minute. I was awake instant xD.

I think that some of the NPCs, maybe a group, sometimes stuck in the door when other customer go out as the doors open in 2 directions and are small for more customers at once.

So I hope that we will get a bit bigger doors, and maybe a bit bigger Restaurant (well, I miss always the storage or the toilet - so as the toilet is not needed for customers atm. I have my storage there).

The day before and after worked normal (well there are rush-hours and hours with less customers, but not slow as at the day I descriped). So maybe you can check this again.

What I find fascinating of the game, sometimes bugs are fixed after relog - for me it is cool as I´m addicted to this game <3

what i do is making all food after closing or before i open, 4-5 of all food sort i want to have, then i place micros a 3-4 and put food in when i see i am only 1 away to have a empty plate then replace it after i heat it up. you cant cook when you have guests as its impossible to hadle as there is no time for it, so make food before open, shop for the next day after closing

I literally started throwing things to costumers to pass time . _ .

I play Single-Player and have now 130 up to 170 customers as I have unlocked all recipes. Well I hired pre patch 4 waiters (2 of them are only waiters, 2 of them are doing all jobs) and always prepare the food inkl. cooking before opening (I always prepare 8 plates per dish). I saw now I can hire up to 8 waiters, but that isn´t necessary for me yet. I have 2 microwaves (soups need to be heated at the grill atm. as microwaves don´t heat).

What also helps a lot is, that I always have max. 2 soups on my list (apart from the day when I did the Archievment, there you need to put only 5 soup-dishes on the menu).

I also have always 3 cakes or Desserts on the list, cause I only need to fill up the missing food (so I have more time to warm up other dishes or help the waiters).

What is also helpful:

- You don´t need to have 10 dishes on the Menu if it is too much and the days are too long.
(well when Kebab Chefs came out there were only 3 Serving-Stations and afterwards 5)
- You can mix Dishes with less mastery with new recipes to have less customer (f.e. instead of the late cakes you can add Rasperry-Pie on the menu, but don´t forget that you need to skill new recipes to max to get more Mastery for the new dishes including the ones for the Chefs Request).
- It is helpful to have about 8 tables for 2 persons and 2 tables for 4 persons (as now groups are joining the Restaurant)
- 4 Plate-Cupoards (? missing the right word in english atm. cause it is late xD) to make sure to have enough plates - with the new mechanics it is a bit easier as you don´t need to transport every plate by one, but you need now to take care that the plates go back to the Shelves. In the end I have in total about 120 plates, but will stock up a bit as there is a new tray available for clean and dirty plates.
- You can also everytime End the Day without opening the Restaurant, if you want to pre-pepare huge piles of food. Only make sure that everything is in the fridge and no plates are at the serving-station. (well...but for that I have no guarantee if it works in MP, but it should be the same as in SP as somebody still needs to open the Restaurant).

In the end the most imporant thing in my eyes is that you need to expand your kitchen with useful workplaces, even if you can´t use in the beginning the nicer counters. I always expand the starter-kitchen first. I have uploaded some kitchen-screenshots were I organized a bit, especially the path for the NPC´s and mine for filling up dishes - and in the Community-Section are also many screenshots from kitchen-ideas to make the start a bit easier.

Hope I was able to help you and your better half a bit <3.

Surely your tips are awesome but the problem isn't that we aren't able to manage food but that customer keep coming too slow. By the first 10 minutes we have everything ready for everyone but the rate of customer is really tedious taking an hour to finish the day not because we can't manage the demands but instead because we have to wait them coming one every two minutes!

Well, I suppose is something that will be fixed soon. I will then follow some of your tips, reduce the number of plates and hope for a fix from next updates!

I must say that for me it is very sad that it is only possible to serve a lot of guests when you pre-cook everything.
- Where is the fun when I can cook without time pressure after the restaurant is closed?
- Why is the time after the restaurant is closed unlimited and the opening time rediculously short?
- Why do the guests not complain when they receive precooked food?

I wish they create a gamemode where food quality is more important and where thr proportion of actual opening time and pre-afterwork time is more realistic.

Well, for now with the last update you can try the Hard mode where you have to serve each costumers by your own, I think that could actually give you some pressure.

Maybe for the rest they could add optional difficulty options as you said so everyone can choose the right difficulty for the gameplay
