Where did he say that ? His youtube video channel ?
It might have been this one:

I don't remember the exact moment though. Good luck. xD
FITE ME IRL. REEEEEEEEEEE
(I'm not opposed to more than one Spanish Rapier fighter either, the whole upright form looks great and would make a nice change from all the lower stanced fighters we have so far.)
Rapier combat in this game is quite bad and boring compared to sabre and longsword, so i would prefer that they make Marie's gameplay and movement as good as they can - plus give her a clear historical style (her style is like a mish mash of general HEMA tournament rapier, with some general italian style rapier thrown in - and definitely not Fabris just because you see her in a couple of poses being low), than introduce a second rapier character that will also be half assed :/
Rapier combat and movement is quite hard to put down in a fighting game context, so i hope they slowly improve the existing player with patches, and not implement a second rapier character that behaves in the same crappy way as the first...
It has a round/cup hilt and a thinner blade, which means it's either a rapier, or the spanish transitional rapier (Espadin) which had a shorter blade and less hand protection - a smallsword, essentially.
^This guy breaks down a little of how the style works
EDIT: It's got ENG subtitles btw

^An example of two fencers practising what I think is the vulgar style, opposing the 'true' style. (pretty much boils down to being willing to diverge from the playbook of the system, nobles be like that)
The second youtube video you linked is actually Verdadera Destreza - the "True Destreza" -not Destreza Vulgar/Comun.
Apart from all the Spanish people and Ton Puey, Rob Runacres is kinda specialized in Destreza Vulgar, he also has published a nice translation in english of the method for HEMA training https://www.fallenrookpublishing.co.uk/books/book-of-lessons/
Which is very nice, since all the Destreza sources still remain not translated from the original texts.
Anyway, as i said, i really hope that Kubold works on their existing rapier character, who needs a lot of work, instead of implementing a second character with a rapier, especially if it's based on the Spanish style, for which we have limited sources, compared to Italian/German/French rapier.
