But seriously, in the okinawan martial art Kobudo there is a technique called "Sunakake" which throws sand from the ground, using your weapon (stick or paddle). That's the closest thing resembling a sand attack but won't fit in this game.
Edit: A DLC with magic spells actually could be fun, lol.
If you did you couldn't get to the final battles because that and stuff like attacking someones back was considered a shameful display.
