Terrible Design in Story Mode
In a fight with 3 people, it is just very poor design to force the player to start -all the way from the beginning- in the story mode. That is just god-awful, annoying, bull. Please, please, PLEASE dumb that crap before the final release.

But if you don't it is not challenging in my opinion. You just strike them in one hit and move on. The whole point of fighting with sharp swords is you need that sort of tension where you could die any time. YOU personally might not like it but I do not want the game to be dumbed down and made easier with no tension. Maybe Kubold can add an easy mode for people who don't want to be challenged. Many games have that.

I am enjoying it so far personally.

I'm pretty sure a "difficulty" mode will be added later on, as it happened with Arcade mode.

This is just a taste of things to come, and so far I seriously adore it.
I mean if not that you could just spam random keys and win eventually and progress but this is not the point as even tutorial says.

yea and the damage model is weird. I literally cut the last guys sword wielding hand and that didnt take a life away. and the ai just keep spamming attacks and bouncing around just annoying. and idk why spamming attacks always work for the ai and when I do it I get easily riposted. I try ripostes and didnt work and I got hit when doing nothing my chracter doesnt even block. I am not saying I am skilled in this game but apparently Jacek just sucks, there are a lot of characters that are way easier to play with.

As said above I think he will add an easy mode at some point. The additional bandages are already a step forward easing the game difficulty.
That said he should keep this design for the normal difficulty, so that the game offers a bit of challenge.

I have to admit Jacek is far from the easiest to master, especially with his stance switches.

it makes perfect sense. The confrontation involves Jacek vs 3 opponents..it's already made easier by you not having to fight all 3 at once :steamfacepalm: Look for a bandage in the exploration level before that fight and it gives you an extra "life".

Indeed, it is not the devs fault if the guy did not bother. Plus in real life fighting multiple opponents is very difficult. If anything Kubold is being generous to us even if you do not get the bandage difficulty wise. I think it is a good balance.

Having 2 lives vs. 5 AND counting ALL the draws as enemy clear wins is not a good balance.
Would be okay if the draws were, you know, draws.

It took me a couple of attempts. In the end, I've finished without being scratched in a single fight. It adds tension. I like it. Though, I suppose a difficulty settings should be there for other people.

But if the main character dies he is dead and the story is over. Encouraging you to stay alive encourages good fencing and offers a good amount of difficulty. You can get like 5 different bandages if it is too hard before the fight if you go looking or something anyway.
To be honest I have read that thread before playing story mode so at the beginning I thought you must start from the beginning, LITERALLY from the beginning of story but now after another patch with bandages (you can get 3 before mentioned fight) you just have to win 5 fights and you can lose 3 times. And even if you lose, AGAIN you just need to win 5 fights and you can lose 3.

Come on... Better for you would be to have god mode because making it easier is equal to god mode.

And this quote says everything:

I just finished it my first time. There's definitely some things that need help, but its so early I'm sure it's coming. I thought the fight was challenging but fun. I eventually got through with sidesteps and parrys. It was more like a mini boss fight. It was fine. My biggest issues were camera and horse movement (getting stuck on things).

What I enjoyed the most of Jacek's story was the overall feeling of an "interactive movie" rather than a videogame. Everything seems going forward, in an increasing climax, as it happens when you watch movie.
For this reason, although it might seem punitive, I would like to have Jacek's story mode (and other characters' stories) to be played with one life only and, once a character is defeated, player should start all over again. As matter of facts, during my first story run, I felt that saving and reloading game broke the climax and the "magic" of storytelling hence checkpoints and game pause should be strictly allowed only if player really has to quit game and resume in a later time (from time to time, your hero would need to take a rest after all!).

As far as it concerns the horse movement and camera, I had issues as well because I was bumping here and there. To fix this issue devs should increase camera FOV distance a little further than its current value.
