Mods are introduced guys
In light of this I recommend avoiding engaging with trolls who want samurai, gladiators, vikings, wushu magic etc etc. We have already made it clear that these things do not belong in 17th century Poland. Instead tell those who request it to make a samurai themselves as its very clearly possible now.

While mods can be cringe, they are good game longevity especially as Kubold improves modding down the road. Everyone wins now the way I see it. We who for once, want a historically accurate fencing game and historically authentic story will get what we want while those who want fantasy or anachronistic warriors can get what they want too in whatever mods they create. (By the way, I love samurai too guys. We just don't need them in every damn game. I'd rather see saber fencing explored to the fullest alongside other fencing styles in the region which are rarely explored in games)

Modding is a win for everyone, even us history lovers cause that means we can add weapons ourselves too.

Maybe I've missed that in the post, but will they be supported by steam workshop or by an external platform like nexus?

The links to the mods are in the game now after a short update. Ger40g provided the relevant links. I do not think we will be seeing Steam workshop for some time if at all (I wouldn't hold my breath). The focus here is skins and models but it sounds like K could add more in the future at the very least.

Not sure about Nexus, I would ask Kubold directly about that.

Right now, Nexus is setting up a section for Hellish Quart.

Kubold said that currrently he's unfamiliar with Steam workshop. I guess it might or might not happen.

This is incredible news!

Now I have to find time to actually work on this stuff.

steam workshop should (i think) be easy to implement but might not come before the end of early access.

split on the decision. on the one hand, the floodgates are now open and we'll invariably get swarmed by weeaboos and star wars freaks. on the positive side, mod support will go a long way making the game more widely known and more popular, despite the lack of native MP support.

so the good outweights the bad by far but it could get tough. a modding subforum might be best. i'm also curious to see what great mods will come out of this. it's not that i wouldn't play samurai and lightsaber mods if well made, but you know the fans of those things can be very annoying...

Yeah I agree 100%.

I think mods could spread the game popularity so it's a good thing. The people like me who love historical stuff can continue to play the vanilla game or maybe add some historical mods.

Exactly, and honestly I'd dabble in the lightsaber stuff and what not on occasion too if there is some good stuff out there even if I am mostly here for the base game.
To be historically accurate to 17th century poland, I want to be a cabbage.

I specifically hope to have a working Steam Workshop support because not everyone is using other services like Nexus or Moddb, but more importantly because Steam has its own rule policy that would at least somehow regulate the quality and sense of mods
Admit it, you just can't be arsed to mess around with moving files around and editing ini's. :LizzyD5:

Either way, I can now fight as a skellington so that's good.
