Weapons and combos you would like to see
Personally i hope that future characters will expand the weapons avaliable. Sabres are cool, but we already saw a bunch of them. I really look forword for staff or spear, falchion&shield, dane axe, dagger&buckler, aaand his royal greatness: a Zweihänder.

it could also be cool a dunken fistfight mode and a knife fight mode.

Isn't the Koncerz exclusively a cavalry sword? Really long and would not do well on foot?

i think so, yeah. but the pallos and sabers are also all cavalry weapons and do just fine. meanwhile rapiers are also really logn and obviously do very well on foot. i'm really just spitballing at this point.

what i really want is a horseman's pick

Sabers weren't exclusively cavalry weapons, they were used in both roles. The sabers in this game I think are not modeled after cavalry sabers.

Yeah, I'd love to see more landsknecht weapons. I think a katzlbalger and buckler character would be cool, and a kriegmesser or langesmesser character would also be very interesting.

Yeah i know, but if they want to expand the audience, they should consider to be more flexible. We already have a medieval monk with a 14th century sword. A paesant with a staff or falchion and shield is not so out the window.

Greatswords are universally in the sources seen as weapons comparable to polearms. Its literally a sword the size of a short spear. Even just thrusting with one you would out reach any swordsman and would have a very nimble weapon. Greatswords are also far from cumbersome and are truely eyewateringly fast weapons. So formidable that the masters say that they can take on multiple opponents through intimidation. Sure, you can try closing in but will your guard hold up? Its a terrifying thing to try to do in real life.

Absolutley. you have a point and i have not explained myself correctly. Greatswords are agile weapons if used properly, but their volume and their leeways make their use peculiar. broad strokes and continuos movemnts following the inertia are not easy to control, and leave the fighter tired with a lot of room for a counterattatck. And in a realistic fight when even a single thrust can make a difference, it could be done.

The whole point in the use of greatswords is to make continues motions which utilize the momentum of the blade to make approaching the user impossible. No skilled greatsword user would leave room to counterattack. They simply are just too OP as dueling weapons and would realistically destroy all other weapons in the game. I've held blunt zweihanders and can say that they are surprisingly easy to control if you understand how gravity and inertia effect their movement. It takes practice, but a skilled GS user would A) Be unattackable given the area denying capabilities of greatswords and B) Unblockable given the sheer weight and momentum of a GS in motion. They simply don't belong in a game based around dueling. The only possible acception to this could be a Marozzo style greatsword. The italian term for this style of sword, Spadoncino da Duello, translates to english roughly as "Short Greatsword for Dueling". These greatswords are closer to longswords than they are other greatswords, and are really just longer and heavier longswords. These would likely still be a bit unbalanced, but they are far more feasible for a game of this scope than a full greatsword.

I'd buy that as a DLC along with an armored dueling DLC and an unarmored pole weapon DLC (e.g. quarterstaffs, spears, partisans).

I agree that that would be very cool, but a whole new roster of characters based around a single weapon type is something I highly doubt Kubold would ever do, and I don't think we should expect him to.

I agree that that would be very cool, but a whole new roster of characters based around a single weapon type is something I highly doubt Kubold would ever do, and I don't think we should expect him to.

Yeah this was why I was thinking this could be a cool boss idea in the future story mode. Some badass mercenary wielding a huge sword. I don't think Kubold will add in a functional weapon and character that we can't play though so I highly doubt it.
