"Impossible" also seems like a mighty strong word, and I'm extremely reluctant to believe you.
My own limited experience with Steam remote play has been less than rewarding, so I am not sure how viable of an option this is. Although I am surprised to hear that this game has been created and published entirely by a single developer, hopefully it can become a long lasting project that can gather a team to push forward new features like online play and co-op.
As fun and well made and as promising as it looks, I'm now slightly more hesitant to purchase- seeing as it is entirely up to the whims of a single developer who may decide to drop the project at any time. Hopefully more news comes out about this game in the future that can restore that confidence.
The game being streamed has the advantage that everything is synched and doesnt need to determine reality on a server. Which also means that you dont need to have the game to enjy the multiplayer, just ask in the Forum if someone wants to show you, all they need to do is send an invite.
The disadvantage is that its unplayable if you have really bad internet because it turns into a block game. if you can stream Twitch in 720p you should be fine.
Other then that the couch coop is great and i play it with my girlfriend and friends that come around a lot . The SP isnt so bad either, they clearly put a lot of work in this very unique game and its far from finished
I bought Hellish Quart long ago to support the dev (I am Polish too ;)) but I dont usually play early access game -> I am waiting for the proper release here. My concern is this will not happen anytime soon.
Hellish Quart is a very fun game when playing against a friend even in it's Early Access shape, although when playing by yourself I feel like it is a bit too repetitive at the moment and I prefer to play the Survival Mode once in a while to see if I can beat my old record of 21 that I have with Isabella. While I like the speed that Isabella has, I much prefer the style that Father Zera has (drunken sword). (and my preference for a sword are: Longsword/2-Handed Sword(Zweihänder) or Katana/Tachi)
As for Online Multiplayer (Online PvP) for Hellish Quart, then I am waiting for that to get integrated to the game so I could play a Online Match directly from the game. I think that will not happen anytime soon though, may be after Hellish Quart is out of Early Access, that could take a while like at least a year from now would be my guess.
(You can play Online Multiplayer (Online PvP) with Hellish Quart right now as well but it has to be through using "Remote Play Together" through Steam or by using Parsec. Keep in mind that you can do that right now if you are wondering; so if you have a friend on Steam and you live fairly close to each other and have a decent internet connection then you can use Remote Play Together on Steam to play together, or you can use Parsec as well to play against other people that are not on your Steam Friends List. Parsec is a program that is separate from the game that you would have to download)
Good, all the katana beggers can go away and Kubold can work on his game in peace.
Parsec is not a viable option for me because the player that joins in has the control settings of the host. When I host the game, people that join find out that they cannot use the key/button they want, not even to select a character, and simply quit (I use an Xbox gamepad and everything else is default).
And on Parsec there are almost never available games I can join.
I barely get tot play this online despite trying an awful lot, so I just don't play it :(
impossible isnt the right word but currently one other game thats similar with its multiplayer issue, its called Exanima and that game is built ground up by the dev and even he is worried Native MP will be possible, he wants to try and if anyone can do it i believe its him, But even if Examina succeeds in making multiplayer, that does not mean it will work her as again Exanima From engine up is designed specifically for The game.
it comes down to the fact that any physics deviation, even a wrist twisting just a bit too much leads to two completely divergent paths. imagine Stalin taking a left on some random street when he was young versus a right he took in our timeline. The timeline where he went left is completely different and unrecognizable to us.
Kobold has mentioned several times in this forum why Standard MP is not possible, and we used to keep a list of quotes where he explained why, but its too tiresome to answer the question week after week, if you search up Multiplayer in the forums and look at the earlier posts i assure you you will see one of the explanation posts.
you can choose not to look into it, or call this rude, at this point I do not care, choose to believe or dont it does not change the reality of the situation.
If people actually read what Kubold envisions for game we wouldnt have katana and viking threads every week, nor would we have dumb balance suggestions from people wanting the game to be like Soul Calibur.
