Idea for People who hate Katana!
I know many players hate katana type sword for adding in the game.

But we can ask about adding those fine weapons as naginata, odachi or kama, and kunoichi or shinobi as additional character!

And weapon It's not katana and fencer is not samurai (viking) so lets vote my friends!

here , are you blind nobody notice your message since 2 hours , and please read the title of the game , is called hellish quart , not called spirit of bushido sword !!!

i love japanese weapons as i like european weapons , but its clearly not the goal of the devs , if you love katanas , " die by the blade " is announced on steam , and you get "for honor" and " bushido blade " are great games who include them .... and you got "deadliest warrior" toot

You got Bushido Blade and Die by the Blade.

Also its a game focused on european fencing traditions, its like if there was a japanese martial arts game and people begged for longsword and rapier.

To be fair Bushido Blade is not even that realistic and DbtB so far looks arkady compared to Hellish Quart.

okay, aside from the obvious answer being... NO... Shinobi is absolutely not a combat class. People need to stop acting like assassins go anywhere near face to face combat unless they absolutely have no other choice, including RUNNING AWAY.

So sick of the combat assassin trope in every ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ medieval game these days.

Many people know about history from low-budget movie's on TV. Not lesson learned. Not much you can do about it. Unless you want to educate them.

Pretty much this, theres also weird japanophilia with western media since the 80s. I mean look at all the katana and samurai myths. People still think the katana can cut through anything, and samurai were some virtuous demi-gods on earth.

Theres also the trope of medieval stuff being all dirty and grimy when it was in fact very bright and colourful. If i recall this trope started due to some director in the 60s or 70s when he wanted to do some grimdark medieval movie.

Problem is, with the latter people ive noticed have quickly took on the new mindset that the medieval era was really all bright colours. But with Japan and its myths, people are too stubborn to move from them because its so ingrained into western and pop culture in general. Its why im glad for things like the internet and the rise of western weapons martial arts we can finally get proper perspective on how weapons were used.

There's nothing wrong with the katana except for idolatry. Some people would die, kick, scream, insult others and pretty much get "committed" to the idea of it to the point of zealot. The reality is, it wasn't that much of a deal to Japanese fighters when it came to fighting, side arm. Just like a 1911 or a Beretta 9mm these days and on top of that, expensive to make. Because it was expensive it turned into a status symbol. that's what "cool" means these days. And of course, the ceremonial hara-kiri with the assitant beheading.
Is the brainwashing of the media that did this. Someone thought they were cool and proceeded to indoctrinate everyone around them. It didn't help that most of Kurosawa's movies in the 60's and 70's were about Feudal Japan for obvious reasons and the people in Hollywood picked on that and proceeded to bring that to the Sunset Strip. Of course, there's no comparison.
The sad part is that it all started after WW-II and nearly 100 years after Japan opened , when katanas were strictly BANNED in Japan. The saddest part is that the katana is as far as those people's knowledge of Japan reaches. Ask them about bows or about armor and they go: huh? That's how far that war reaches.

Is like Sushi, people think it is the bomb because it was re-invented in California and yet you see Anthony Burdain asking Sushi chefs in Tokyo if they eat it after work and they're like "no way, is flavorless, there's no fat"...You're not going to get "spicy mayo sush" in Japan. Is not the way it was invented.

Ramen, Tonkatsu, Curry, Shabu Shabu,Yakisoba,Omurice...etc.

There are things about Japan that are way cooler than the Katana and is just sad to see this. For example Japanese joinery.
And then when you try to reason with them, their answer is: you MUST hate the katana, without a second thought. It's just sad, shallow and frantic obsession.

The thing is that Kurosawa depicted samurai pretty accurately. In Yojimbo where a samurai wouldnt even help the problems of a town unless he got paid, and even then he started some ♥♥♥♥ for ♥♥♥♥♥ and giggles. Japan had a pseudo-caste system for a while and samurai tend to think of themselves above the rest of the populace (they kinda were).

But yeah, i blame 80s and 90s western obsession with samurai and katanas that caused so much idolatry with them. Whats funny is you dont see this level of ♥♥♥♥ in another country that have much better swords.

Of course the people that hate a particular weapon don't want to see it in one of their favorite games and will say anything that they can to avoid getting the weapon into the game. It is futile to argue against someone's rock hard determination as it will always be there as a rock- unwilling to change. (they will even go as far as to call anyone who supports a particular weapon a weeb and make other asinine assertions)

The real question you should be asking yourself is whether it would benefit the game to have more weapons? - And I think it would, as long as weapons that don't fit into the Story Mode of the game are only included in the other game modes.

(Please don't quote me with arguments concerning history as I do not find these arguments relevant, other than the one that says it would ruin the setting of the game of which I agree and I would not want to diminish the accuracy of the game's history for the Story Mode.)
