HALF LIFE UPDATE BROKE THE GAME

Valve please fix this. I know that I can click right on cs 1.6 and select beta version then play, but a lot of people don't know it and servers are empty. It shouldn't work like that XD.
Please fix...

i also have the same error,i suspect that valve probably just shut down the game because
it just updated ,probably updated to prevent to the people to get in the game R.I.P? :(

Right click and go to Manage then Betas and select the beta or legacy option, you'll be able to play again. In time Valve will update CS to work with the new Half Life update.

Download the Half-Life game itself, it is free for the weekend
right click the Half-Life game in your library, and in the drop down menu, select Properties...
in the window that appears, select Betas on the left hand side
then click the drop down menu for Beta Participation
and select steam_Legacy - Pre-25th Anniversary Build
after you do that, you will be able to launch CS 1.6

it's not only this.. every mod stopped working! Half Life 25th needs a serious patch so that old mods work again!

Switching over to the legacy version of Half-Life is the way to go but who knows for how long that option will be viable and it doesn't 100% guaranteed a permanent solution.

It's likely that Valve will update the rest of their GoldSrc games to fully work with the 25th anniversary update but that will have side effects for sure.

Someone alrady said but: You need to enter Beta for open the game. So right click the game click Properties go to Betas then select beta and wait for update.

Nothing like making an update to a game that is no longer supported, with a patch that makes it impossible to run...did they even test it...?

What if valve doesn't update counter strike 1.6? and then let it as die so people can use Beta? I doubt valve wouldn't do something like that
