opening Half Life instead of CS 1.6

every time I start up the game it opens up the original Half life and instead of CS 1.6, tried to connect to online servers and the game would only crash right after

Open your Steam client and log into your account.

Navigate to your library by clicking on "Library" at the top of the screen.

In the list of games on the left-hand side, locate and right-click on "Counter-Strike 1.6".

In the drop-down menu, click on "Properties".

In the new window that appears, click on the "Installed Files" tab.

Click on "Verify Integrity of Game Files". Steam will then begin to verify all files of the game. This process may take several minutes.

Once the process is complete, any missing or corrupted files will be automatically downloaded and replaced. Launch counter-strike.
