Keyboard issues on Counter-Strike 1.6

I cannot use numbers on keyboard to buy weapons etc. Only numbers from the numpad.
It seems that function keys does not work either.
Can we solve this without installing unofficial things? I want to use only legal stuff.
I saw that there are bindings that can we use via the console but I only found commands for very specific purchases. Even if this is not an ideal solution, if I can pass by bind commands to activate menu items (not specific items), it's ok for me.
I also saw that I do not see underscores when I type in the console.
Do you have a solution for one of those problems?

best plyrd use numpad keys cuz its faster. only noobs use horizontal numbers
