Why do so many people play CS 1.6 in 2020

this is a genuine question. The game looks like ♥♥♥♥ compared to most games.

CSS is dead, and the servers other than dead have 900 Ping lol. and the Counter Strike Condition Zero comes free with the 1.6

Games don't have to look good for you to enjoy / have fun in them.
Graphics of games will always continue to get better until the day it they simply look like real life, than talks about graphics in a video games will be obsolete.
So I rather look at everything else a game has to offer.

I started playing 1.6 back in 2010 being Eastern European many of my friends and I do not have good PCs and 1.6 was a good communal game, low specs that everyone could play.

As time went on and we got better computers and CS:GO was released we started playing CS:GO but many of us did not have that same enjoyment we had and 1.6.

A good amount stopped playing CS altogether and the ones that still do play they play 1.6
I have 1k hours in CS:GO now and out of all the games i ever played CS:GO is the only i regret, yeah sure i had some good moments but almost non-good times (yeah i now it sounds strange)
That being said it doesn't mean you can't enjoy CS:GO I see you playing it now so I hope you enjoy it, I barely did.

The reason I gave this backstory is to give you a picture. I don't think there are many people buying CS 1.6 in 2020 that never played it before. I believe most of the people playing CS 1.6 now are playing it because of nostalgia or in the reminiscence of the good old days and younger times.

Bcs after all its better then most of new trash that are published, just look at cs go, movement dynamic is way better and one can say more "realistic" in cs 1.6 then in cs go, in cs go it look like that all players are on skateboard.....not to mention hit box and other things.

as far as i know it's because most people play custom servers like zombie escape, surf, deathrun, and things like that
