CS vs CS 1.6 and playing CS/CS 1.6 with non-steam players
Hi all.

This might sound dumb but I just wanted to ask if the Counterstrike game currently sold on Steam is in fact Counterstrike 1.6. If not, how do I get CS 1.6?

Second question: is there a way of playing Counterstrike or CS 1.6 with people playing non-steam CS? I'm not sure thats gonna work with a Steam version considering I need a dedicated server (I think) but I'd really like to try...

Thanks for any help.

Hello!
I recently Bought Counter Strike from the store. It's cs 1.6 so if you want to buy it you have to buy it. You can play with non-steam players, you only have to get the server's ip and connect to it. That's how easy it is
Have a nice day!

Thanks for reply and info but to confirm...do you mean I just get the other non-steam player's ip address then use the "connect (ip address)" command with the ~ key?

If you want to play LAN, he has to do port forwarding on his router. I meant a server ip, then just connect to it and play.
