Compiled list of fixes to common problems
HUGE THANKS to Azilo for compiling this list! :p2chell:

:engi: MSVCR110.dll error - This is related to a missing microsoft visual C++ redistributable dll. Download the latest version of it here: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30679#

:engi: NO SOUND IN GAME - The fix is DISABLE your GS audio / EAX audio include DirectX3D audio acceleration and sound will work.

:engi: FULLSCREEN SETTING NOT BEING SAVED - If you set the resolution to be the exact same size of your monitor the game automatically defaults back to fullscreen. If you want to play windowed mode, make sure to pick a resolution smaller than your current screen size.

:engi: SERIOUS FPS DROP WHEN PLAYING IN WATER MAPS - Disable the water reflections feature under Options > Graphic Settings and then you should be running at your full FPS

:engi: COULD NOT CREATE DEPTH BUFFER / D3D11CreateDevice failed / GAME CRASHING AFTER INTRO VIDEO - Maybe try installing directX 11 on your machine from here[www.microsoft.com]. If the installation fails figure out if your card is DirectX11 compatible from here[www.geforce.com]
If that doesn't work, try the steps in this thread by PaulLFC

:engi: NO LOBBIES ON THE GAME BROWSER / CANT FIND FRIEND LOBBY - Your firewall may be blocking the steam ports required for p2p play. How to open these ports
Also try setting your range out further (e.g. worldwide)

:engi: LAG ISSUES / DISCONNECTS - Either you or someone you are playing with has a terrible internet connection. This is a P2P game after all. Unfortunately there is no way to check pings BUT if you bring up the score view in game you will see a RED Snail if their ping is terrible. a WHITE Snail if their ping is moderately slow. Check this URL to see how to bring up the scores[imgur.com]
Just make sure you know who you are playing. Pick Near or close to improve your chances of a stable internet connection.

:engi: ELO Showing as 0 - Fix here: http://steamcommunity.com/app/287450/discussions/0/540744936308476107/

The only 'issue' I've been currently experiencing is with the Game Browser, there is only like 1 sever to be found at time worldwide, unsure if it's normal or a problem o.o My firewall doesn't seems to be blocking Steam or Ron whatsover.

Everything else is all right though, started to play since post-patch

I'm running into the "game crash after intro video" issue and after attempting to fix using the listed solution, I'm still getting a crash and "Could not load index buffer" error message. I installed DirectX manually, and was able to install the vcredist_x86 file, but I'm getting an error message when running x64:

[1F74:1F54][2014-06-14T20:21:37]: Burn v3.6.3536.0, Windows v6.1 (Build 7601: Service Pack 1), path: C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\Rise of Nations\_CommonRedist\vcredist\2012\vcredist_x64.exe, cmdline: ''

Any advice? I've been able to get further into the menus than before but this is obviously very frustrating, as I'm sure it is for everyone else.

EDIT: I updated my video card driver (NVIDIA GeForce 8400 GS) and it's working!! Woohoo!!!

Could you elaborate more on the 'Game Lobby not working' item? I have turned off my firewall and manually mapped the ports to my computer in the router settings (the 4 UDP p2p ports) and it still does not seem to work...

Same here, manually updated ports (it's 2014 people, what's next, setting the correct Baud rate?) and killed my firewall. No avail.

I can host games, and people can join my game and we can play the game fully till on sides win.... But i can not see a single game in lobby, I can not even see my own game.

Can someone please confirm all ports needed for the game to work properly?
I have opened all the ports listed in the bug report, but probably RoN needs some more. Thanks

It baffles me how they introduced so many bugs and problems with a game that was OK. All they had to do is have multiplayer working. There is no reason why the game runs at 28 fps, when the original runs at 60fps constantly.. even counter strike:go runs better. What did they put in this? The old game can be run on a smartfone i bet..

M. has fixed the soloution of not being able to connect to multiplayer or see lobbies from others.

This is it:

It didnt fix it for me. Opening TCP 80 extra to the list stated in the bugfix did wonders tho.
But short on time, will check better lateron tonight or tomorrow.

I cannot change resolutions in the game, and cannot even change the resolutions with the files. Along with that, I cannot accurately select anything in the game (in order to select something, I have to be below and to the left of the object) which really screws with my ability to play, as I cannot even select the bottom row on the action box. Please help someone, anyone! I really want to play this game, but I really can't play!

You can't tell, but the cursor is in the middle of the "Mouse" tab and is still able to select the "Graphics" tab.

I have the latest version of Microsoft Visual C++ and I still get the same error.

Says I don't have directx installed, I'm running Windows Vista with service pack 2 and I know I do. I run other games that require directx10 perfectly fine.

Tried this myself and it still does not work. Still cannot see any multiplayer game in RON. I've also killed my Firewall to no avai.

Btw I'm using wifi, I might try using cable later today.

When i start the game i just get a windowed mode screen wich is black and then it instantly says its not responding anymore. I wish games are actually done when i buy them... now i have to wait until a fix or do something stupid myself.
