Windows 10 fix - It works

Hi, like a lot of you I went on my quest of searching ANYTHING that allowed me to play Settlers HoK in Windows 10.
Finally, I found a video uploaded a few days ago with a patch that allowed me to play.

You have to enter the video (open it in a Youtube page), and the link is in the description of that video!

Previously, the game did not start, and generally ignored my attempts to launch it. Now the error appears, namely: RwEngineSetVideoMode (VideoMode)

Has anyone encountered this? How to solve this problem?

Thanks, this solutions works great! However only for a basic game. The exe file runs only the basic one, and DLCs require separate launchers. How to avoid this?

Works but it wont open through steam, guess thats okay tho as long as I can play this game again

Great! It works! This worked for my game also, reloaded just recently onto a newer Windows 10 system. The folder structure to drop the two "fix" files into after extracting ...that is "ProgramFiles (x86)\steam\steamapps\common\The Settlers Heritage of Kings]\bin. After dropping those fix files there, and starting the game with the new file, worked great!
