The Intruder

Horror Elements
Some scary shizz, like seeing a clock on the wall and hearing the ticking, then realising the clock has stopped and the ticking is not coming from there, or perhaps things changing position, I.E. that one damn lego piece... or pictures changing.

A door opening behind you, and nothing is on the other side. A blood stain on the wall that changes shapes. Finding a chocolate bar... and not eating it.

You gotta do the thing where you're walking for a while and getting used to the sound of your footsteps, then you stop walking and you still hear the footsteps.
And/or: Random changing in the position of objects in a room that you just searched when you come back to it, as if someone else went through all of the stuff after you.

think about other games as inspiration. as you know amnesia is F***ING scary because of it's mind tricks. the intruder should have these aswell. distant screeches, sounds of footsteps, breathing, twigsnaps, and lights. lights dude, they are ♥♥♥♥ing scary. lighting will make the difference between a horror game and a peice of ♥♥♥♥. make night pitch black, foggy, and put lone street light across roads (but far apart).
i think the lighting could make or break this game. things like, standing on a cliff looking out to a pine forest than seeing a flare and hearing an echoed yell and gunshot. THAT WOULD BE GOOD.

-You leave a room, hear a noise in the room, go back in, and see a chair that has fallen over.
-You are in the kitchen, you turn your back from a window, you hear a creaking sound, turn around and see the window is open with the curtains softly flying in the breeze.
-When you go outside, sometimes the door would lock behind you and you would have to open a window and climb back in or something.
-Soft little girl crying always adds to the scare factor...(Erie, F.E.A.R.)
-If you enter a children's room, the stuffed animals are a certain way, then you leave and come back and they are switched around or have arms or heads cut off.
-Bloody handprints on bathroom mirrors.
-You may hear glass break at random times, sometimes that glass being the lightbulbs in the basement...
-Soft children music playing, like ferris wheel music sorta, basically the creepy feeling off being alone in the dark with only that music.
-Going outside and hearing crows fly away because something scared them off.

Those are some ideas.
