Opis
The E6 (Multiple Unit) and c6 (Trailer car) stock were the first articulated cars for the Vienna Stadtbahn (Light Rail) respectively the U6 line. 48 E6 and 46 c6 were built by Lohner-Werke (today: Bombardier) between 1979 and 1990. They were in service until 2008 on the U6 line. The majority of the vehicles was sold to Utrecht (Netherlands) and Cracow (Poland). Because of the wider T stock - which was first in service in 1993 - were in the night before the first day of service of the new T stock footsteps ("wings") under the doors of all 94 cars mounted, to bridge the gap between the doors and the platform. Since 1994, the E6 and c6 were always in a set of E6-c6-T-c6-E6, to provide the passengers a low-floor entrance in every train.
