Fair point, but why dont you organise some kind of prepurchase, or donate button on site?
Good luck with your game anyway, i keep and eye for it.
nathan04  [author] Oct 21, 2013 @ 1:05pm
Thankyou, but i have now taken the game offline to further work on it. The server for one year cost me just short of 1k, so i decided to take it offline after the contract had ended. I wil home host every now and again tho to show updates.

I like the idea of gameplay and the fact that people can do awesome things solo (like creating a game). As much as I would like to play this with my friends at times I hope the solo option will be possible too unlike some "solo" and MMO games where you NEED to play MMO sometimes. This does look awesome though!!
Unauthorized Butterfly Jul 2, 2013 @ 3:13am
ONE man made this. and for that utmost respect.

Runescape all over again...
Even though I'm way over Runescape by now, I support this.

Good luck!
Lost Froggy Jun 11, 2013 @ 12:44pm
This is mighty impressive for a one man production!
roder May 30, 2013 @ 5:53pm
giving you a +1, hope you can get more ppl on board because a 1-dev mmo seems really awesome of a feat but expected to be underwhelming
airart Apr 18, 2013 @ 10:30am
Looking forward to it

For one person to have made this game, is quite amazing considering an MMO I can't imagine you having to fix the bugs as one person.
nathan04  [author] Mar 20, 2013 @ 7:08pm
@Whiskey, yup sure is.

@rage77

Thanks on the great comment, nah not out to make money, it loses money since the server is soo expensive, but i'm here to get my name out as indie developer. Please feel free to try it.. It is however far from finished to a standard of which i am happy.

Give it a go and have fun, just accept it for what it is a single person developed game. Take care.
Outis Mar 18, 2013 @ 7:42pm
I would definately try this game out if it were on steam. I understand that its still in beta and the polishing of the grafix would come later. I am looking for a game that make me think like I had to a decade ago. This might be a breath of fresh air or could be another game claiming to be an MMO just to make a quick buck. The only way to find out is to give it a try.
Whiskey Mar 17, 2013 @ 1:16pm
It's a Free to Play ?

@Furdinand, Part 1

The reason i ask this is for a few simple key points. The reason i have the beta up is not for a finished and polished product but as a project within development. My main key is to see if my game mechs work correctly. Do the stat systems work and does the tutorial which in turn leads onto the main story work. Do you see the other players can you interact with those players can you trade with those human players. These are things i take into account seriously. Without these foundations the game will fail. Even though i understand your points and views. You are kind of in front of me a little. I have the story in place and the development of the "what am i doing here??" process.
nathan04  [author] Jan 25, 2013 @ 3:49pm
@Furdinand, Part 2

But at a basic set to see how the game reacts. If i see that the game runs correctly with very limited problems in which i have eliminated all game breaking bugs and this is done. Then i will polish the game to a standard of which people may or may not like. Either way it has been a great learning curve. 2D pixel games are very simple to create but will gain allot of greenlight votes due to "it looks fun to play and i have lack of expectation for anything more". Games like this one even though i created it myself i am still compared to the AAA developed games and mmos on here simply because it is 3D and players expect more from these types of games. The game i made for myself but i wanted to share it. Thats why it is free. If it gets support i will expand on the game. IF not then it has made a great portfolio piece.

Thanks again on your comment.

@Furdinand,

Thankyou on your comment, did you download the beta game?

and thanks again.
LittleBlackRainCloud Jan 25, 2013 @ 2:24pm
I think the problem with this game is two-fold, nothing to do with the graphics or gameplay.
First while there is a story, it's not really all that compelling. Why should I care about the character? Who is he/she to me .. how would I relate? Why do things matter to people? where is the culture? The people reasoning is missing.
The second it seems to lack complexity.
I respect the idea of the time spent here on a work of love, this is what makes something truly interesting ... but it doesn't show itself.
Keep the game as a work source, apply what you have learned in crafting and apply even more logic and interaction as to the user .. particularly where story is concerned .. the rest falls into place if I know WHY I should concern myself with a land in peril .. learn not just to tell a story but to RELATE it in a meaningful way.

@Campaigner,

You are just one of many on steam and i accept your opinion. Everyones tastes within games differ from person to person. And juding by your screenshots i would'nt play those games or share your interests. So this does show that everyones opinion counts.

Thanks again.

About sympathy votes: Many vote up games and say "upvote for effort" or something similar.
I for one, don't give out upvotes based on how much work or how long someone worked on a game. I follow the question Valve is asking: "Would you buy this if it was on Steam?"
In the case of F2P the question is: "Would you play this if it was on Steam?"

The answer here is no.

There's no anger or anything like that. It's just a cold, hard truth :/
nathan04  [author] Jan 20, 2013 @ 4:01pm
@Campaigner. Not all models used are my own since the world is so big. The rest however is mine. Otherwise it would not take 5 years from both design to the beta game of today. I dont understand your 'sympathy vote' remark. Sympathy for what? creating something that i thought was not possible 6 years ago and having a project on steam. I see it as one of my best achievements of my life having a project about finished. And i value those who support me. I dont expect everyone to. But it is nice to be noticed for hard work and dedication. Sorry it is not good enough for your vote.

Take care

nathan
