Hammy Harvey Jul 17 @ 5:04am
Thank you for the reply Rico.
Tiffany Jul 16 @ 9:55pm
Will you give keys to major supporters. Because I have been commenting on this and watching it even though its been like a year since the last update
Rico  [author] Jul 16 @ 9:48pm
@Hammy: We're looking to support Mac Win and Linux eventually. So yup!
Hammy Harvey Jul 16 @ 8:07am
@Rico: Will this be supported for Mac users?
Tiffany Jun 16 @ 5:40pm
major supporters, because i could do a video of it
Tiffany Jun 16 @ 5:39pm
No problem. Are you going to give beta keys to supporters?
Rico  [author] Jun 16 @ 1:59pm
Oh? Sorry, I thought I'd gotten it. Thanks for pointing it out!
Tiffany Jun 16 @ 7:41am
Right under the release date for the 2015 it says. estimated launch date 2014
Rico  [author] Jun 15 @ 10:49pm
Zombie Kitteh: It's been fixed since people mentioned it in comments earlier.
Tiffany Jun 15 @ 12:44pm
Estimated launch date: Spring 2014
Maybe you should fix that...
Big Boss May 18 @ 5:29am
Awesome! Can't wait.
Rico  [author] May 17 @ 9:10pm
Scooter: If you thought that machete action was sweet, then you're in for a treat. I've gone all out on melee combat to make it engaging and interesting. This is not your average FPS melee. This is one of the things I want to show you guys soooooo badly. Soon!
Big Boss May 17 @ 5:53pm
Good to know. Could you show off some of that sweet machete action in a video soon? I want to see how that works.
Rico  [author] May 17 @ 5:52pm
We'll have a roadmap up once we hit our internal dev milestone. On Trello, public to all, and likely so you guys will be able to vote on any new features we put up for dev (so you get to pick what we prioritize) . Don't hold me to that yet though, but that's what I'd like to do!
Big Boss May 17 @ 5:41pm
Nevermind Rico.
Big Boss May 17 @ 5:40pm
I'm very excited about this. Is there a roadmap anywhere?
Rico  [author] May 17 @ 5:37pm
Scooter: Nah not at all, just wanted to clarify. A lot can get lost in text communication on the internet. My feeling is that I love all of our fans and I really don't want to disappoint any of you. We're trying our hardest to make a cool experience and also working very hard to make it worth every penny.

Also congrats on your first job! They can be time consuming, but at least when you're off, you get to focus on things you enjoy without too much worry. Family, friends, games, gamedev, whatever you want!
Big Boss May 17 @ 5:32pm
If that was directed at me at all. I was not sarcastic when I said "Well said Rico." You explained it very well. Happened to get my first job a couple weeks ago. Finally saw what all the fuss is about.
Rico  [author] May 17 @ 5:24pm
I do understand where you folks are coming from though, trust me. Nobody wants this game out more than we do. I'd recommend going ahead and subscribing to the mailing list on our site, which we only intent to use for big news, such as when we "reboot" our PR and media campaigns. We're sort of hoarding the info and media until we can show you just what the game has turned into in the time it's been in development. I think you will all like it though.

We've taken feedback from users and your ideas, and ran with it, along with our own concepts and ideas. There's a lot of "survival" games out there now, we started this long before the fad, and our game now will clearly stand above the crowd on its own. Have a little bit more faith folks, we really want to make you happy with the game!
Big Boss May 17 @ 5:04pm
Well said Rico.
Rico  [author] May 17 @ 4:48pm

We're not a full time, we're adults with families and full time jobs to pay the bills. Sadly, that means that deadlines are hard to set since keeping the lights on tends to be top priority. Games take a long time to make, specially games of this kind. The initial deadline was set based on a requirement after being greenlit.

We did think it all through. The thought is: I don't want to release the game until I feel its ready. That goes for whether we do Early Access, or a full release. We want players to enjoy the game the minute it's released, not the "hope" that the game will be good.

My hope is that the community appreciates the fact that we're not after a cash grab. This is the game we want to make, and we're making it.
PC Toby May 17 @ 3:56am
Well you guys should remove the "Release date: Early 2015" because we have already passed early. And I have to ask since you guys have been working on the project for SO LONG. Is this going to be released as early access or full game? I know you are saying life issues and school takes a lot of your time, but you must have thought this through when you decided to make a game. And specially a game like this. Also making a deadline for yourselves. Something must have been thought through since you were able to set it to "Early 2015".
Big Boss Apr 16 @ 2:39pm
@Rico Glad to see your that type of developer. *stares at rockstar games shamefully* Hope to see this thing out soon. Looks rough on the videos as well as promising. Happy Coding!
Rico  [author] Apr 15 @ 8:34pm

Sadly, jobs and real life issues. Since we don't work on the game full time, it's a lot harder to nail down deadlines. Plus, we've changed a lot of core gameplay systems to make for a more interesting experience, so that also takes some time.

Trust me, there's nobody here that wants to see this out there than me. I gain nothing by holding it back from you all, but it would surely break my heart to release something I felt wasn't fun or worth people's money.

Sadly, all that stuff takes time and money, which are both limited for the team :-/ But we keep on going!
Big Boss Apr 13 @ 4:48pm
I support you in this game development. After all I have been in it since 2013 but what happened to "spring 2014"?
Noqda Apr 4 @ 12:14pm
@Rico, thanks for the update! Great to hear that the game wasn't shelved or abandoned like many other projects. I'm looking forward to see what the new updates were. :)
Rico  [author] Mar 27 @ 3:58pm
Hey folks,

Sorry, I know updates have been non-existent for a long while now.

Mainly it's been a lot of work going on in the background. I added a ton of new features and did some gameplay iteration and changes to improve things I felt were already done in other games. As a result, I think Rebirth will be an interesting genre in the FPS genre but is has meant being quiet for a while since a lot of the work has been backend systems work that's not pretty or fun to show.

Media & PR efforts will be resuming soon. Hang tight please! Sorry for the wait!
John Nagant Mar 14 @ 3:59am
Is any thing moving with this game?
PC Toby Mar 11 @ 9:41am
How can itt be that there haven't been an update since 6. August 2014?
Tiffany Feb 16 @ 12:41pm
If I had a free copy or something i could showcase it.
Right now my total monies is $3.37 sooo.....
Rico  [author] Feb 16 @ 12:05pm

Since this is a labor of love project and self funded as well as developed by a very small team in our spare time, it takes time to develop the game to fit our vision.

I could have easily released some shoddy garbage to further fill up the Steam storefront and get some quick cash but instead, we're trying to build a game that we feel is worth people's money from the minute you support it, not years later (if it gets finished).

Just keep in mind if things are quiet, it doesn't mean work isn't being done. It usually means the opposite, I think people will be quite happy with how much the game has progressed since the last update, but I really want to hit some of our milestones before I start putting out new media and trying to draw attention again :-)

I do appreciate you keeping an eye on the game, trust me, I want this finished as much as you all do, since I want to play the finished product just as badly!
Tiffany Feb 14 @ 4:51pm
Is this ever going to be released?
PC Toby Jan 19 @ 6:00am
These survivors you are helping / who have found your shelter. What can they do? I mean is it possible to play as them? Would it be possible to send them out on missions. Can we tell one of them to come with us and help us? Or are they just inside the shelter?
Kabe Dec 6, 2014 @ 5:09pm
Tiene muy buena pinta, buen trabajo ;)
Rico  [author] Nov 6, 2014 @ 8:51pm
@Da Knight:

Thanks! Trying my best to make it great. I won't be happy with the game until I feel that I as a gamer, would love it too. I did start making it because I wanted to play such a game, after all :-D

I'm really looking forward to the time I can see you all playing it. Seriously, you have no idea!
Da Knight Nov 5, 2014 @ 4:29pm

I Am A Horror/Survival Game Fanatic And I Will Definitly Enjoy This Game
Hammy Harvey Sep 28, 2014 @ 12:16pm
@Rico fantastic job i still cant keep my eyes off this game. Bravo.
Wilder Sep 17, 2014 @ 1:18am
f2p Yeah? ok
Tiffany Aug 20, 2014 @ 3:12pm
Rico  [author] Aug 15, 2014 @ 2:56pm

I look at all the comments/forum posts so I probably read your ideas and likely incorporated them.

I'm nearly done implementing all the tech to power the game so hopefully in the coming months we'll be finally cranking out content. If I can have it my way, Rebirth will be the kind of game you buy and then 1 year later it has a TON more content and features then when it first came out.

My goal is to create a whole universe that keeps expanding until I can get all the cool ideas & stuff I want in a game in there. There's a looooong list!
DarkH0st Aug 14, 2014 @ 4:26am
been looking at this for a long time, can't wait!
FalloutDud3 Aug 12, 2014 @ 4:46am
Aw man This game has definitely progressed since I last looked at it! Probably don't remember me but I was watching this a year ago and posted some ideas... Still looks successful as ever!
Tiffany Aug 9, 2014 @ 8:21am
This game looks really fun have you thought about pricing yet?
Kabanchik(Am2) Aug 8, 2014 @ 10:48am
я 1000й)
Derp Aug 7, 2014 @ 11:37am
When are you thinking of starting the kickstarter?
Rico  [author] Aug 7, 2014 @ 10:43am

No release date yet. We're building a nice and fun playable pre alpha demo after which we'll be doing a Kickstarter (to get money to pay artists/licenses so we can get better art/done faster) and we'll be offering backers the option to get instant access to the pre alpha demo instantly. We're definitely going to be doing Early Access but only after we feel the game is fun, playable and not filled with terrible bugs.

We want to use Early Access to create content, rather than sell people a shoddy game that isn't fun, with the promise that it *may* eventually become fun.
Rico  [author] Aug 7, 2014 @ 10:42am
@goomben: The hands on these screenshots are really old. Also, the game isn't built to be your standard FPS. Your character is an actual person and you can see different parts of their body at different angles/etc through full body awareness.

I'm trying to update the media since the media on this page is waaay out of date. Releasing more and more as I get things more polished off. But as always, the game is still in pre alpha, the art does and *will* change along with content and features as we get more things done and in game.

If you want to see the kind of visual fidelity we're aiming for, have a look at the latest announcement where you can see a small gif showing off the outdoor environments. I'm hoping to be able to secure enough art to make the whole game have that kind of quality overall, despite it being made using my spare cash atm :-P

Derp Aug 7, 2014 @ 9:34am
When will we see a release on steam?
Also, this game looks and sounds really fucking sweet.
