Hey everyone! glad you liked this! As this is actually my first mod, i had trouble doing what I wanted to for part 2. So i'm going to put this on hiatus for a while. If you're new, still try it, as many people said it's a lot of fun as is! And i'll still leave it up to highlight some things that the mod tool can do, and hopefully inspire more skilled modders (and they can contact me directly with questions). Enjoy!

Excellent changes. The camera angle is much better, and the quests are more fleshed out. It's coming along nicely. You've encouraged me to put in the time to learn the mod system, it seemed very strange when I first opened it. Keep up the good work!

GUYS AN UPDATE IS AVAILABLE - unfortunately you have to go to http://www.nexusmods.com/divinityoriginalsin/mods/33/? to get it for now, as steams update system is broken for divinity mods.

I'm looking forward for an expanded crabmod. With more crablore, more fleshout crabheros - perhaps some crabtraps on the way ? Ratholes could be used to progress to other rooms. a old and wise crab could be found behind some dishes, to help our 4 heros in an upcomming battle - or could lead them to a horrible death(trap).

All in all I had a crabtastic time playing this - and i like your style of storytelling :)


fyi : after hitting subscribe i just waited some minutes, and suddenly the download of this mod began ( and i had to copy-paste the file ).

Oh and just for presenation's sake, I'd recommend extending the wall/room so that the crabs start in a clearly visible area (what would be more towards the now center of the room). Just block off the terrain of the floor if you don't want it passable with appropriate objects. It feels like a harsh starting location just because the wall blocks vision and the only way to compensate is an awkward camera angle. I like the idea, nicely original :)

For those that are curious, don't try to remove the crab's weapon. *It crashes the game or is removed completely ;)* Not sure if you can fix that, or edit the "weapon" to make it permanent/unremoveable and not show the ! icon. I look forward to a full version and would like to see the crabs have a skill like pincers stunning or squirting water as a ranged attack.

@ jolly. Try the instructions in the description. Unfortunately steam and divinity don't see eye to eye on downloads. And. I have no control over where steam puts files, or where divinity looks for them.

@bucket - expanded crabby dialog is planned for the revision coming later this week.

I tried it on another PC and same result, clicking on the "Mod" button ingame gives me an empty combobox. I had to do it by hand too.
Environnement : Win 7 pro 64 bits, Every .net frameworks installed. And I run it with Administrator rights.

Isildur - thanks for the feedback! The next version of this mod will just be this level revised, where you are able to befriend either ( or neither) faction. It will also feature improved/ more dialogue, more world interactables, and give the crabs some personality.

As a note, there are currently 2 ways to successfully deal with the rats, or you can fight them ( but that kind of royalty is way above your pay grade, little crustacean)

Unfortunately I won't be letting people pick up weapons, as the base game doesnt plan on crabs using weapons so it quickly causes errors ( trust me, I wanted it too)

The crabs will eventually reach the sea, but not until they've beaten more rooms! ( future patch)

Ah and by the way, how to install with steam : when it's downloaded, go to
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\ and CTRL+F and search for kitchenescape. Copy the .pak file named "kitchenescape_insert_random_letters_here.pak" to "C:\Users\YourName\Documents\Larian Studios\Divinity Original Sin\Mods"

Spoiler for anyone who didn't do it
So, this mod takes ~5 to 10 min to finish.
No bug found for what I've played. I didn't understand at first that I needed to move an object to move the crabs. I've read the recipe and the journal, nice flavor. Poisonous cheese is a good idea to beat the mouse, but it removes a fight and I wanted to fight a crowned rat :(
I only found weird the fact that I couldn't pick up some items because they were supposed to be weapon, it's frustrating.
You should also make it that when 4 crabs have the winners parchemin, they teleport to the see.
