I love that wherever there's discussion of games from Shrapnel and Matrix pricing complaints are the TOP issue. Always.

Thumbs up for me. Awesome looking game !!! Reminds me alot of the older pc games Starflight. I sure hope Steam will pick this game up.
IBOL17  [author] Dec 12 @ 5:07am
I'm not sure where you live, but I'm sorry. Shipping within US <$6. you could order the DL version with no problem, and all documents wil be provided electronically. I just finished the modding guide yesterday ;)
Axeking Dec 8 @ 11:20am
I played the demo - looks pretty good. Problem I have is ordering from Shrapnel means paying postage and cross-border fees. 40 + 20 + est 15 = $75. This isn't a $75 game...

At 10 to 20 on Steam, I'd already have bought it...

Just FYI.

@ Systeminshock :
Not at this time. Shrapnel is the publisher, and is producing physical copies. Steam has not embraced the game yet, and I have been lax in pushing for it.

@ Gamezalot:
Yes, that is indeed the case :) and I am very excited about it. Physical copies, projected release date Dec.15th 2014

Maybe next year, Steam...

Last week, Bluesnews.com had a headline saying this game had gone gold. That term isn't used much these days because it used to refer to the time when a game was considered complete and was sent to the CD/DVD distributor to be mastered on a gold disc from which the duplicates would be stamped. Typically, a game would hit store shelves 2 weeks (or less) after going gold. Not sure if that still applies in the digital download era.
Systeminshock Nov 16 @ 2:52pm
Any other distribution channels other than Shrapnel? The game looks excellent!
nadia911 Oct 26 @ 7:16am
The release date was promised for you, and after months says it will be soon ... has doubled the development time without even detailing that these new features that are incorporated...

"Your are very delayed without justification... "
wow, have you ever made a game?
especially one with as much depth as this one?
how about had a full time job and a family at the same time?
ashurakain Oct 24 @ 4:17am

nadia911 Oct 22 @ 7:25pm
And the Abril release?? Seven months ago??? Your are very delayed without justification...
IBOL17  [author] Oct 16 @ 11:38am

If you are really afraid this is vaporware, take heart, you're mistaken.
If you are just slither-by-trolling, you've already gotten more attention that you deserve.
nadia911 Sep 9 @ 7:42am
Vaporware!!!!!!

Voted!!! Great game!

I'd say this is HEAVILY influenced by ProspectorRL, and very lightly by the other mentions.. Until this offers everything that ProspectorRL does (and it either already does, or is really close), I'd probably prefer good ol' Prospector.. But this is shiny, nonetheless (compared to prospector, at least..) so I thumb it up (and remain suprised it hasn't been Greenlit already..)
Aimless May 15 @ 6:21pm
Seems well integrated and appears to have a lot of depth. You got my vote.

Hi, Beanchilla,
Thanks for the interest!
I tried to contact you thru itch.io already.
Early Access is closed. the only thing offered right now is the demo, which is free. I still need to change some web pages, sorry. I completely disabled the "pay" options today, which I thought I had done.

For now, the full game is not available until release in May. Check your email, and we can talk there.
Beanchilla Apr 18 @ 10:15pm
Hey there.
I'm a bit confused. It says 34% off but the site says name your own price. I paid 6 dollars and it sent me to a page with the demo and level designer. I'd love early access but understand if it's closed. I'm also curious if this means I'll get a steam key or access to the full game. Would love to buy it.

Let me know what's up and feel free to add and PM me if that's easier.

Thank you! looking forward to the release!!!

My only issues with the demo have to do with the UI. Hope you will surprise us...
IBOL17  [author] Apr 9 @ 9:08pm
Thanks, Foopy64!

@ GnoSIS:
There are multiple ship tiers, and some need to be unlocked.

Also, ships at the shipyard *do* get better, the further in the game you go. Like way better ;)

There are already quite a few different kinds of sectors / biomes, and still more to come yes!

Also about "biomes", there are 8 different kinds of planets, each with its own selection of terrain and monsters.
Foopy64 Apr 8 @ 6:03pm
Got here from ectogemia looks cool man!
GnoSiS Apr 7 @ 10:12pm
Crew rename is a must for roleplay reasons, and streamers love that thing: check dwarf naming in DF.
GnoSiS Apr 7 @ 10:10pm
Thanks for the quick replies.

Got more for you:

Are there multiple ship tiers?

Do base ships get better as you move to higher sectors?

Will ther be different sector types ala "biomes"?

will there be seperate game customization options like loot amount, enemy density etc?

You should make an FAQ.
IBOL17  [author] Apr 7 @ 9:26pm
Hello , GnoSIS, those are wonderful questions!
- the game was designed to be moddable. thanks to the kickstarter, there will even be a modding guide!

- you can retire, there is a score (there are 9 different ways to win!)

- there is no sector cap (except integer limit ~2 billion!)

- you can name your ship, I never thought about re-naming officers, but yes I can put that in!

- as for difficulty, there is "easy", "normal", and "hard". I want to appeal to everyone who could possibly be interested. There is no insta-kill, but it's easy to get in over your head if you are careless.

- if you invest in officer crafting skills, you can make some really great stuff!

- Neither you nor officers "age", but they can be killed (and so can you!)

- ectogemia is doing the music (he linked the awesome preview)

Recommend you try the demo offered at the bottom of this page[ibol17.itch.io]

GnoSiS Apr 7 @ 7:03pm
Can you mod it with more items, ships, quests, map types etc?
GnoSiS Apr 7 @ 7:02pm
can you name your ship and crew?

Is there a cap on the number of sectors?

do crewmates have age/time limitation? does the game has a age/time limitation?

can you retire? is there a score?

is difficulty tailored towards a fair or casual game or is it all out roguelike insta deaths?

is difficulty configurable?

are there new recipies and materials as you go up in sectors?

can you craft to win or is the best loot only found?

music?
IBOL17  [author] Apr 7 @ 8:44am
That's just where the game comes from; following the rogue-like traditions... With enough interest, 16:9 would be explored ;)
but_white Apr 6 @ 6:33pm
screen only 4:3 not 16:9 why?
MsStandart Apr 6 @ 12:36pm

Daumen hoch - Thumbs up!

This game sounds like fun. It is Roguelike, in space! Perfect combination. There seems to be an interesting balance between challenge and fun.
MonkeyLancer Mar 28 @ 8:52am
Ha! I'm jealous that'd be a fun show.
IBOL17  [author] Mar 28 @ 8:18am
yes Godflesh fan! Supposed to see them 4/11 in philly! there's tons of GF & other metal in this game!! (it's just subtle-ish)
MonkeyLancer Mar 28 @ 6:16am
"Streetcleaner"? Godflesh fan? D&D meets Star Trek was enough for me to vote. Looks awesome!
Feathers Mar 26 @ 9:27pm
I'm all for gameplay over graphics.
jcaracc2003 Mar 26 @ 6:11am
I've been playing this and it's fun. One word: unlessthis has been fixedwithin the last week or two, you have to set it to run in Win7 compatibility mode. That aside, it's a fun game and worth playing! So, I want to see it on Stem and thus the upvote.
Discord Kantus Mar 26 @ 6:04am
Well then. This will be interesting.
IBOL17  [author] Mar 26 @ 5:42am
Hi, SL, super enemy: YES! one of the quest lines is about overthrowing the ultimate enemy and taking revenge for humanity's defeat. it is the hardest, longest, most dangerous quest. with lots of places and things you won't see in any other quest line.
Discord Kantus Mar 25 @ 9:08pm
Right, but just beating the game isn't always enough. Is there a super-mondo-ultra-enemy to take down that can really be considered "the final challenge"?
IBOL17  [author] Mar 25 @ 7:13pm
Guess I need to trim my text a bit ;)
you can also speed-run the game, going for any one of 9 distinct victory conditions
Thanks for the yes! (ALL the yesses!!!)
Discord Kantus Mar 25 @ 6:28pm
No end, eh? I hope there's some sort of ultimate final goal to shoot for, even if you can play infinitely afterwards. Voting yes.
