tedious. Jumping in "chasing waterfalls" were better planned.

"Very basic and easy" pfff...first part took me a fair while and the last part took longer...I don't have the skill of entering angled portals and that part took me quite a few attempts. My blindrun: https://www.dropbox.com/s/zht5n2oy2v6vvcv/peanutbutterandjelly.dem Good fun though.

Yeah, but it makes you land wrong every single time. That's why I added the light strips so you land over a little. When tested withou the lights people were landing behind or on the top edge of the angle all the time. Not an easy dilemma othe rthan poitioning your top portal correctly and enter from the side like I did in the walkthrough. You can easy do it 10/10 times that way once the top portal is correct and you enter from the side and centered.

Needless to say, it won't be used again anytime soon. The 30 degree angle is much easier though for this type of fling.

You do know you can rotate the portal helper, right? so if you were to remove the lightstrip and placed it facing right it should work.

There is one on the floor, the angles auto center anyway and the ceiling would put you off center of angle if used there, so I did what I could. :-/ I think it would have to be a hammer thing.

I see that you are using beemod. Have you considered using portal magnets to reduce the amount of failed placings?

Like you said about the 1st area. You were shooting the wrong portals. Not the maps fault. Gel on the ceiling is required.

2nd area with the fling to the exit. You were just entering the portal wrong and setting your top portal off. Angled panels auto-center. They also don't have the same "gravity" pull that horizontal portals do so you have to be more accurate.

Watch my walkthrough and you'll see me mess up the first time because I walked in too far to the right which misaligned me. You'll also notice how I enter the floor portal is different from what you were trying. That's because when you enter your way it tends to fling you forward throwing you off, hence the hitting the edge of the portal and flinging you up instead of at an angle.

This one is not for everyone and I get that, but knowing how to do certain things makes maps much easier.

Sorry you gave up and had a bad experience, but I appreciate your feedback and the video and will keep it in mind for future maps.

I give up on this one. I got everything done except for that last fling to the exit. I am fairly sure I do it right as I read the comments, but everytime I exit the portal, I shoot up, not diagonal. And that is not counting all the hundred times it goes wrong.

Also, given all the flinging I had to do in the first part, this chamber definitely is NOT easy. It was not really hard to come up with the solution, but executing it was rather hard. Kept shooting portals wrong and got the paint on the ceiling which made things a lot worse. I got quite dizzy from that entire endevour and had to crouch and start all over. I'll make a video of what I got so far so you can see the struggle I had.

BTW where is the Peanut Butter? All I got was Gelly.

Nice use of the bounce gel, Fairly easy though.

Added a walkthrough of 1 solution. There are multiple ways, so this isn't necessarily the "intended" way, but the part getting to the exit is.
Donderbus Oct 21, 2013 @ 9:43am
yeah made it the normal way now, but it's tricky.
DeathWish808  [author] Oct 21, 2013 @ 7:51am
That's correct, but if your ceiling portal is off then it'll throw you off when you refire it on the angle since angled panels auto-aligned portals to center. Also entering the floor portal from the side (exit is to your right) will keep you straight as well. Doing it this way you should be able to do it 9 of 10 times no problem. I tried to make it as friendly as possible with the lights in the ceiling and the portal magnet on floor to auto-center, but the angle part is something I can't fix. Thanks for playing and the feedback!

I wouldn't necessarily call those two chambers easy. True, there is no hard difficulty involved but both chambers require some unconventional thinking. Anyway, I liked the first one a lot! I'm very ambivalent about the second one which is due to the fact that what I assume to be the intended solution only worked like 1 time out of twenty tries. But maybe I'm off? I put a portal above the angled panels, then stand on the tile where the blue paint hits the floor (my back pointing to the exit), and shoot the second portal on that tile. While I fall I shoot another portal on the angled panel and fling towards the exit. In theory that's sound but I always got stuck when I exited the portal. Is there a safer way?
