Although, there's always been one thing that confuses me about the swords in Left 4 Dead 2 that I'd like to talk about, and that's how common they are!? Haha! See, Valve has directly stated that they spent a lot of time making sure each weapon that appears in the game is believable to its location, and even used the combat rifle as an example, explaining that originally the U.S would ship these to the middle east but they had been re-routed to help the domestic zombie outbreak (This is talked about most in level 2 of the developer commentary if you're curious :3). My point is that, I find it hilarious that every weapon in the game was made to be believable in the U.S during a zombie outbreak, except the sword! It's so unusual to see so many scattered across southern america! Haha! This isn't to be taken too seriously, just an amusing observation I've made! :3
