@johntx94:

Are you using any mod using the same area? Otherwise you may have to use TES5Edit to see if another mod is interfering.

Spell Tome not appearing in the ruined house. Downloaded the zip file and moved the extracted files to the game's data folder no change. Help please? Thank you.

@ScalesBloodShed Western Watchtower is the tower where you fight the dragon in Whiterun, after returning from Bleak Falls Barrow. Fort Greymore is the big fort just west of the tower. There is a destroyed house in between them.

Zephon Nov 19, 2016 @ 10:33pm
Thanks a bunch man got it figured out.
I need to pay closer attention to the details.

If you don't see the spell book under the table in the ruined house, it means that the mod is not active. If you don't see the spell, it means that the BSA file is missing in your Data folder. If so, you can download a ZIP file from my personal website:

http://elder-scrolls.nl/files/ManageDragonEncounters.zip

Extract the BSA file from the archive into the Data folder.

Mod doesn't work for me. I don't see the spell.
Altbert  [author] Jun 14, 2016 @ 1:36pm
Also, I would advice anyone to install Arthmoor's Unofficial Patches (Skyrim, Dawnguard, Hearthfire, Dragonborn and/or High Resolution). These patches resolve quite a lot of bugs in the original game or its DLCs.

I use Wrye Bash to install mods that I have downloaded from other sites. Mods from the Steam Workshop only install an .esp and a .bsa file in the Data folder (which are easy to delete), but others may not. Wrye Bash keeps track of all installed and overwritten files, keeps a backup of overwritten files and restores these files when uninstalling a mod. I've seen quite a lot of frustrating complaints about mods that wouldn't be necessary when at least using LOOT.
Altbert  [author] Jun 14, 2016 @ 1:29pm
LOOT (formerly BOSS) is a must have if you are using mods. It's quite easy to install and to use. TES5Edit is also quite easy to install but a little more difficult to use. I use these two programs together with Wrye Bash (mod manager) ever since the release of Skyrim and have never run into any problem, unless I caused the problems myself while modding. Biggest problems while using mods are incorrect load order and conflicting mods. I would advice anyone who is using mods at least to install LOOT and use it whenever installing a new mod before playing the game with that new mod. I use TES5Edit to find conflicts with mods that I'm using myself, but ofcourse can't use it to find conflicts with all those thousands of mods that are available.
AMOGUS Jun 14, 2016 @ 12:53pm
ive heard of these 2 programs but dont use any of them, as it would be a hassle to install both programs if it involves a big long process to do tbh. ill go in manually and see if changing the load order in the data files helps, so thanks for the advice:steamhappy:
Altbert  [author] Jun 14, 2016 @ 12:48pm
@Doge: Are you familiar with LOOT and TES5Edit? If so, try using these to find out what's causing the problem, either problems with load order or mod interference. Also, you can send me a list with the mods you are using to info@elder-scrolls.nl
AMOGUS Jun 14, 2016 @ 11:51am
im pretty sure i always wait at least 2 seconds before releasing the button, plus i tried dual casting it, but that doesint work so far
Altbert  [author] Jun 14, 2016 @ 11:11am
@Doge: Are you using the correct mouse button when casting the spell? Are you pressing that button for some 2 or 3 seconds before releasing the button?
AMOGUS Jun 14, 2016 @ 10:09am
yea, no message box at all, ie spell doesint do anything
Altbert  [author] Jun 14, 2016 @ 9:43am
@Doge: No, I can't because you gave me too little info. You can cast the spell, so you have installed and activated the mod. It could be caused by an other mod interfering or incorrect load order. After casting the spell you should see a messagebox in which you should choose between Most, More, Many, Default, Less, Least. Try using LOOT for load order and/or TES5Edit to find a possible interfering mod.
AMOGUS Jun 13, 2016 @ 11:19am
your spell is invisible and when i cast it,nothing happens. can u tell me why that is happening?

I just want to say thank you so much for this mod. I recently ran into an irritating glitch which spawned dragons endlessly in Riften (Literally, one after the other, and it really messed up all my quests in that area) and since installing this, I haven't had one attack Riften as of yet!
Psy Aug 7, 2014 @ 1:56pm
I've entered Riften, Windhelm, and even WHiterun while using this mod and have yet to encounter a single one. I've passed 9 in-game days so far and still nothing. I already completed the main quests so I'm not sure what else could be causing it. :/
Altbert  [author] Aug 7, 2014 @ 1:15pm
Oh ... and even using the Dragonrend shout, doesn't seem to help sometimes.
Altbert  [author] Aug 7, 2014 @ 1:12pm
Psykotik, it's a difficult one! It works, but seems quite random, and you should be very careful. Sometimes you may see one, two or even three dragons "hanging around" and fly away when you get close to them. If you have set it to Most, you may be encountering one or more dragons attacking a village when you enter that village. My mod only changes a variable in the game, that is used by the game, probably Skyrim.exe. I can't change anything in the executable, so I thing it's part of the radiant AI of the dragons. The island should not have any influence on dragon encounters!
Psy Aug 7, 2014 @ 11:35am
Altbert, the mod doesn't seem to work for me. I set it to "Most" and haven't seen any ever since. But before I did set it, I saw like 2 dragons hanging around the field where your island was..

P.S. Don't have any similar mods either..
GIJoey Jul 29, 2014 @ 10:13am
this made me think "is there an imagine dragons song called encounters" but yet im a linkin park guy so lolz
Altbert  [author] Jul 16, 2014 @ 3:49am
Killed a lot of dragons lately? Maybe it has to with respawn time, normally 30 ingame days.
Special Delivery Jul 16, 2014 @ 3:38am
I've completed the entire maingame storyline, Factions and Dawnguard

Haven't progressed further than bringing followers to Delphine though. Kinda forgot about her
Altbert  [author] Jul 16, 2014 @ 3:34am
Which of the quests in the main questline did you complete? In vanilla Skyrim dragons appear after you have defeated Mirmulnir and Sahloknir, the last one to prove to Delphine that you are Dragonborn.
Special Delivery Jul 16, 2014 @ 3:12am
Don't know why, but the spell doesn't seem to work for me. The managedragonencounters.bsa file is in my Data and I have no other dragon spawn mods that could conflict with this one at all. Any tips? :o
Altbert  [author] Jul 13, 2014 @ 1:54pm
When walking from Whiterun west you first find an ruined Imperial tower, the Western Watchtower, guarded by Whiterun guards. Further west you see castle ruins, and in between on your right, there is a ruined house.
OneTwoTree Jul 12, 2014 @ 7:42pm
1 problem weres fort greymoor and watch tower?
Altbert  [author] Jul 6, 2014 @ 3:53pm
I don't know if any higher settings are possible. I will have to check the scripts.
Happy Hippo Jul 6, 2014 @ 9:00am
?
Happy Hippo Jul 6, 2014 @ 9:00am
is changing the setting up to 6 possible through console command or other? or would this be my best chance for exponentially increasing dragon encounters completely ridiculously
lucies Jun 25, 2014 @ 3:12pm
This mod workes well with run for your lives mod.
Hikaru Jun 22, 2014 @ 1:45pm
I feel dumb that I wasn't able to remember that...
Altbert  [author] Jun 22, 2014 @ 12:25am
Run for your lives (Arthmoor)
Hikaru Jun 21, 2014 @ 11:15pm
I forget if i got it here but there is a mod that makes people go inside during dragon attacks. Be good to find it and mold it into this mod
Altbert  [author] Jun 17, 2014 @ 10:53am
@AJLA616: When using the mod, it only changes a global variable in the game, that is set to default in the vanilla game (a value of 2). My mod varies that from 0 (Least) to 5 (Most). Maybe the game randomizes this value, but I'm not sure. At least the number of dragons to spawn is randomized, I think, as I have encountered 1, 2 or 3 dragons at the same time with the 'Most' setting. BTW (it just pops into my mind): do you have the managedragonencounters.bsa file in your Data folder? This type of file seems to get misplaced sometimes. If it's not in the Data folder or the Skyrim folder, then you can download the file from my website: http://www.elder-scrolls.nl
AJLA616 Jun 17, 2014 @ 10:00am
@Altbert I'm at around the middle of the game with no other dragon mods
noahjamerson Jun 17, 2014 @ 8:39am
thanks for telling me that but i got 2 out of the 4 hours i played
Altbert  [author] Jun 17, 2014 @ 8:36am
@AJLA616: At what point in the game are you using my mod? Do you use other dragon mods, and if yes, which are they?
Altbert  [author] Jun 17, 2014 @ 8:31am
@noahjamerson: "Most" gives you the most dragons with the least time between encounters. Beware, because you may be up against three dragons at the same time.
AJLA616 Jun 16, 2014 @ 3:25pm
dragon amount isn't changing for me :(
Griff Jun 16, 2014 @ 1:56pm
@atbert well, if you create a MCM version,i would jump at the chance to sub to that
noahjamerson Jun 16, 2014 @ 12:39pm
question: does the most option give you the most dragons or the most time between dragons
Silverwarg Jun 16, 2014 @ 2:03am
Shrimp on the barbie:
Press §; Click corpse; type in "Resurrect"; Press Enter.

NPC is back.
Altbert  [author] Jun 15, 2014 @ 2:53pm
@Nunu Nunurbiznes: I know, but I made this one before I knew MCM. Maybe time to create an MCM version!
Timothy Mouse Jun 15, 2014 @ 8:09am
i dont need dragons to attack the towns......... thats my job
Griff Jun 14, 2014 @ 10:29pm
this is a great idea! but i find mods that use mod configuration istead of spell menus, are easier to manage. and are less buggy
