Very nice one, playing and reading wikipedia about battles

Most of the time, I use an immobile units AI because otherwise units scatter all over the place/use all of their soldiers to defeat you right at the beginning of the game. But I agree with the "this is too easy" part, I doubt I'll fix it anytime soon though, as I've lost interest in making campaigns.

Also, this version of the campaign doesn't have legionnaries simply because it wasn't made for The Forgotten expansion. It uses the Byzantine civilization instead of the Italian one, too.

Try my latest campaign "The Arthurian Legend" for something more triggers heavy. Thanks for your comment.

One more thing: as others have mentioned you should really add units like the Legionaries to this campaign. I would also recommend switching technology trees to Byzantine...it makes more sense then having Italians (naval/archery civilization)
iknowjack123 Oct 18, 2014 @ 2:38pm
This is really a cool idea and I appreciate the work you put into it, but there are a few problems. I've done the first two levels so far and the AI is pretty bad. Set it on hard and most of the time the enemy just sits around doing nothing. Finished Level 2 and the enemy didn't even attack...pretty much spent the whole game doing economy/base building, yet had no army.

If you could increase the difficulty/AI, this campaign would be so much better. Maybe add a few more triggers as well. I like the idea behind the campaign and how it reflects the vanilla AoE 2 campaigns, but it is far tooo easy.

Thanks, Very interesting campaign :)

As requested, a version made for the expansion is now available. Click here if you want to give it a try.

very interested! playing with Roman units would be great! yes they are from the alaric campaign in DLC! mounted legionnaires =Byzantine castle unit, maybe make spearman legionnaire and infantry legionnaire! that would be amazing
Jeraw [author] Mar 23, 2014 @ 12:44pm
Legionaries are from the DLC right? I might make a FE version of this campaign if there is enough demand (normally, it should require next to no work but who knows with bugs).
To anyone interested, let me know!
bcooke11 Mar 22, 2014 @ 7:59am
this would be great if there you could spawn the legionnaires from the Alaric campaign !
Not a complaint, as this was a good campaign, just a suggestion!
Thatbushguy Dec 25, 2013 @ 8:09pm
pretty good
londofftb Nov 19, 2013 @ 11:22pm
The new download they released adds legionnaries to the game if you can update the units I recommend doing it because it adds to the authenticity. Well kind-of.
horty.bluett Sep 19, 2013 @ 5:40am
Belle campagne.
Mais trop facile à mon gout (pourtant, je règle à difficile).
Merci
MAPBill Sep 15, 2013 @ 1:56pm
There are no enemy attacks on the second scenario. They just sit there and build or train nothing.
Also for some reason the main enemy player tried to become my ally (through tributes requests). Was that suppose to happen?
MAPBill Sep 15, 2013 @ 1:53pm
At the third scenario the player gets instantly after the game starts a bushload of cavaliers out of the blue inside the Ruteni village. Was that suppose to happen?
Shaitan Aug 31, 2013 @ 6:12am
Far too easy, which is a shame. More surprises, better AI :)
mose Jun 16, 2013 @ 8:05am
yet it is
Jeraw [author] Jun 15, 2013 @ 7:41am
That should be impossible as you can't add the same scenario twice in a campaign. Can anyone else confirm this?
mose Jun 15, 2013 @ 4:22am
did you know that lutetia and alesia are the same level?
MrCableswitch Jun 13, 2013 @ 10:54am
thats kool, well if you need some help on a future project i could help as long as time allows
Jeraw [author] Jun 10, 2013 @ 9:51am
Thanks! And yeah, I know about that: I even thought about limiting the player but skirmishers/archers/men-at-arms fights get boring very fast.
MrCableswitch Jun 10, 2013 @ 9:16am
very enjoyable, nice work, just to point out that in mission 3 i was able to research chemistry and as far as im aware im sure the romans even with their amazing tech did not have access to cannon!!

either way you did a great job

the_troll_of_lundamyri Jun 2, 2013 @ 3:19pm
Ah ok that explains it. I knew in the actual battle a Gaul releaf army did arrive and attack the romans. Expecting it I had double walled off my entire base with several castles and many towers expecting it.
[BALLS]EpKing Jun 2, 2013 @ 7:11am
CRIXUS!!
Jeraw [author] Jun 1, 2013 @ 2:51pm
the_troll_of_lundamyri> Nope. I was going to put some easter eggs in the campaign but decided against it in the end. I forgot to remove the green player.
the_troll_of_lundamyri Jun 1, 2013 @ 12:54pm
In the final mission are the green faction supposed to appear? I completed it after completely walling in the blues and defeating them yet no green faction ever appeared expect for that 1 guy in the forest to the west in the very corner of the map.
the_troll_of_lundamyri Jun 1, 2013 @ 12:53pm
sPn was the market or seige workshop destroyed? If so build new ones in the same spot and it should be victory. Thats what I did.
suck me beautiful Jun 1, 2013 @ 6:59am
In order to achieve victory I had to change diplomacy to enemy to all computer and defeat them
Jeraw [author] May 31, 2013 @ 12:46am
1. Defeat the Helvii.
2. Defeat the Cadurci.
3. Give 20 soldiers to the Ruteni.
4. Give 4 monks to the Eleuteri.
5. Kill the bandits (player 8).
6. Build a market in between the flags for the Segusiavi.
7. Build a siege workshop in between the flags for the Gabales.
Jeraw [author] May 31, 2013 @ 12:35am
sPn and piuretig: have you changed any of the diplomacy settings? Has the computer prompted you to change diplomacy? I have just done a quick test but everything seems to be working on my end. I'll list the victory triggers in the next comment if it can help.
suck me beautiful May 30, 2013 @ 10:18am
I can confirm what Piuretig says, same has happened to me. All enemies defeated, but not classed as a victory!
0P | [NOH8] Avehand I May 30, 2013 @ 6:05am
@Jeraw, sure, i did and it appeared, thanks for the campaign
Jeraw [author] May 30, 2013 @ 12:05am
Can anyone confirm piuretig's problem?
Theodora: sometimes, Steam glitches up. Try unsuscribing and suscribing again.
0P | [NOH8] Avehand I May 29, 2013 @ 9:27am
How can i start this scenario. it dosent show up in the campaings or scenarios
piuretig May 28, 2013 @ 6:00pm
I'm not sure if it was just a glitch but in the cultural wars scenario i had to defeat all the tribes instead of just the ones who were my enemies to win the game
Jeraw [author] May 27, 2013 @ 11:51pm
What?
Thalanor May 27, 2013 @ 6:35am
Here is the english version of my 6 scenarios long campaign "La Guerre des Gaules".

""La Guerre des Gaules"." this does not make sense

This campaign uses the AI "Immobile Units AI GOLD" made by Zanzard Lothar (http://aok.heavengames.com/blacksmith/showfile.php?fileid=4167).

"AI "Immobile Units AI GOLD"" and some of this doesn't make sense
cool campaign though!

Sérieusement bravo pour la campagne ''The Gallic Wars''! J'ai eu vraiment du plaisir a le jouer.
