@Cody The Wiser, I don't actively support this mod with updates anymore. Having said that, the way that Skyrim handles tooltip descriptions is based on the effects it has. It isn't something I can I directly edit. Even if I wanted to, I wouldn't be able to change it (Or I would have. I don't like the giant wall of text either. This is probobly why they only had one item in the game with it's affect and overrode it's flavor text that you see in the game.)

Could you see about changing the description for Arcane Mastery to just all spells cost X% less to cast?

@Cody The Wiser, This occurs because that enchantment is removed from the game in this mod for balancing purposes. If you read in the Info, it is replaced by Destruction Magnitude(damage) and the Reduced cost + Magicka regeneration enchantments have been buffed. See my reasoning for why in the mods info.

For some reason the destruction spells cost less to cast enchantment won't apply to anything. All the other spells cost less to cast enchantments can't be applied either so I would like to know what's going on with that and how to fix it.

@Cody The Wiser, Making spells much harder to reach the 100% free cap is part of the design that was inteded for this mod. It is supposed to be weaker/rarer by design. You can still reach roughly 85% with investment. The difference is that it now takes effort and dedication to get it.

I like this mod alot but it annoys me that certain enchantments are now extremely rare. Like I only ever fiund the Destruction spells cost less to cast on college robes.This isn't useful for me as the effect is dulled down when you apply that enchant to other items cause you're also applying magika regenerates faster. So I set out to find some Thalmor robes to get that enchant and when I got them I discovered that the enchant had been replaced by the more powerful destruction spells enchant. Could you please do something about that.

I also tested what dtg3 reported by enchanting a circlet with fortify shouts and while the menu claimed it was only 20%, using a shout with it and nothing else resulted in no cooldowns on shouts. Removing the circlet returned it back to the normal cooldown.

I have a different problem with the fortify shout effect than mentioned below. I've tested this with several other mods and no other mods, not even the dlc, and concluded that it was this mod that causes the fortify shout effect you get from talos shrines to be stackable so that when you activate a shrine several times you can get as much shout reduction as you want. Sure it's not a game breaking issue as long as you remember not to activate a talos shrine before the previous one runs out but it would be nice to have a fix.

Could you possibly make a sister mod that allows you to either enchant with none-soul gems (like Oblivion's use of Sigil Stones, the only thing I can think of is Heart Stones to be used in their stead) or possibly have a merchant that can enchant your gear for you. I would really appreciate if you could, as I don't want to have to learn enchanting on all of my characters.

the talos enchant does not work. It is reducing shout cooldowns by 100% regardless of what or how many talos enchants i put on my armor

Looks like you're focusing on balancing enchanting with magic... but it would be great to also address enchanting with crafting (smithing and alchemy). I think I have a simple idea which you could probably implement:
Remove the ability to enchant necklaces with fortify smithing or alchemy.

Only having 3 items (or 3+something found/bought) for smithing would be a big balance improvement IMO.

The enchantments which could really use this treatment (enchantable on 3 items instead of 4) are:
Smithing
Alchemy
1-H
2-H
Archery
Resits (magic, frost, fire, ligthening)

Going thematic... Magic necklaces should be different from rings. Necklaces can be primarially protective, and rings primarially active. So no resits on rings, and no smithing, alchemy, 1-H, 2-H, or archery on necklaces.

excellent mod, loving it so far, however I might suggest ratcheting up the destruction spell magnitude enchantment (haven't tested the others) to about 30% or even 40% at level 100 enchanting with all the perks. I say this because on higher difficulties pretty much your entire gear setup would have to be dedicated to destruction if you wanted to use it effectively. granted normally you cant use destruction AT ALL on higher level enemies, this mod helps a lot.

with a higher maximum percentage you can dedicate less of your setup to destruction so instead of using three or four slots you only need one or two depending on how much destruction magic you use. Just a thought, may or may not be a good idea :D

@Soanvolck + Warshack, I just looked at Savos Aren's amulet and my mod(this one) still has it as the vanilla +50 Magicka. The robes of the Archmage however does give that enchantment which I assume you both meant. That enchantment can only be put on chestpieces and robes. I also investigated the shrine thing and there shouldn't be a problem there... I guess since I can't replicate it that it must be a conflict with something else. Could you guys be more specific with what else you are wearing and what enchantments you are using?(from this mod)

I have the same bug as warshak (Savos Aren's amulet) And there is something odd going on with the cloak enchantments. They disappeared from the item's tooltip, but they're stil active.

When i dis-enchant savos aren's amulet i get an enchantment Knowledge of the archmage but it seems to not be enchantable on any items?? Plus i can get infinite cooldown on shout by using talos shrine multiple times, only shrine blessing it works on and is a tremendous temptation on the difficulty i play with the mods i have that elevate difficulty

Thanks - after a 'little' hunt and peck - dis-able / enable your mod is found to be the source of a couple of 'problems' with a few other Enchantment Mods ... I like you concept, truly I do - but it seems to "not like" certain other enchantment mods and not just the afore mentioned one.

Your mod, being the 'corner stone' - caused other enchantment mods to be 'quirky'.

Again, I like your concept - but the other enchantment mods are more needed.

@jjb-54, it is compatible with Enchanting freedom yes, but it is a warning to NOT use it as this mod is about balancing enchantments as a whole where as enchanting freedom is about disregarding balance in favor of freedom. They will work together perfectly fine but will detract from the experience that this mod aimed to provide.

Okay I seriously confused, to be honest and thus asking:

Mod Creator states in a post, and I quote:

"... This mod was never intended to work with enchanting freedom and goes against the entire premise of the mod...." Dated Jan, 2013

Then I read and I quote:

.... "SHOULD (not confirmed) work with Enchanting Freedom."

So which is it? "Should" or "Never intended ... because ... "it goes against"

Its the blessing of talos, if i run up to a statue and use it to get a blessing the talos blessing isn't getting removed. I can just keep adding it, it just last the standard 8 real hours .

I haven't tried other blessings yet, I'm guessing you might have tweaked it to be an allowable enchant so when the script runs to remove the prior blessings it doesn't get seen.

It only happens with your enchanting mod, if i turn of the enchanting overhual all of my blessings vanish and I can only recieve one blessing after that.

Maybe you carried bug with your mod from an earlier version of skyrim, but its fixed in the base game.

You don't need to use the enchant for fortify shout, just get the blessing of talos and use it multiple times...

Also I think I found a bug where you can get the blessing of talos multiple times allowing you to have 100% reduced time for 8 hours

@Aetyr I loaded the mod last, and the only other mods that I have active are Dovahkiin Relaxes Too and Dance of Death - Killmoves Mod. Whenever I actiavte the shout, the features of the shout work, but the sound effects loop and there are no visual effects on the weapon. Aside from that though, everything else works great.

@The Goddamn Batman, I will look into this. Are you wearing attack speed gloves by chance? Does it happen after you trigger the shout? Are you loading this mod very last? Does it happen with all your other mods disabled? Any details you can provide will help me to diagnose the issue.

First I'd like to say that this is hands down, the best enchanting mod out there for Skyrim, period. I'm really interested in it simply for the Fortify Shout enchantment, since your mod has been the only one that accurately applies the effect. However, it seems the vanilla game treats the elemental fury shout as a kind of on-the-fly enchantment, and after installing this mod, whenever I use that shout, the visual and sound effects completely bug out and loop indefinitely. Any possibility of an easy fix for this? Thanks!

@GalaxyCrusher, This mod was never intended to work with enchanting freedom and goes against the entire premise of the mod. Allowing these enchantments or even the vanilla enchantments to be in any slot is extremely game breaking from a balance standpoint. As for CTD and imcompatibilities with the latest patch I have been playing a lot recently and have experienced no such crashes. If they exist they are other mods either causing them on their own account or conflicting with mine. This mod is fully compatible with the newest patch. I recommend playing with the load order of your mods to fix the CTD's as that is usually the easiest fix.

Your mod is conflicting with Echantment Freedom. It was working for me a while back. Since the last few official updates to Skyrim, your mod may have inconsistencies and may need to be made compatible with the latest patch. I say this because I'm experiencing instant CTDs when used with Enchanting Freedom, it is very frustrating.

I've been looking for a mod that let's me put cloak-spells as enchantment.
Any chance you'll add the sun-type enchantments too?
Weakness to sun-damage for x seconds on weapons and ofcourse stendarr's aura as an enchantment for chestpieces.

@jjb-54 I am confused at what you are asking. Arcane mastery is one enchantment you learn from the archmages robes themselves if you disenchant it. It will give you all of the listed enchantments.

Okay, I see "ARCANE MASTERY" - Now I was/am already at 100 in Enchantments, do I have to start over? Here is my reason. I see, for example Archmage's clothes have 4 enchantments on them. I was going, so umm, why is it I cannot put four on my clothing, so I dress the way I wish? I am/was fully prepared to pay 3 - 4 soul gems for this, and yes one should be at 100. So I again I see ARCANE MASTERY ... yet when I go to the Enchantment table ....? Is there, obviously, something I am missing? Thanks for the help.

Yeah i noticed that multiplicitive thing with another addon that gave a talent to make me swing 25% faster with two handed weapons, so i equipped the gloves with attack speed and i was swinging retardedly fast. Took the gloves off and it was much much slower and more balance oriented. I think the least you could do is make it give like 20-35% attack speed instead of just 10%.

@Vashuna, The problem is that there isn't a good way to have more than one instance stack with each other and results in multiplicitive stacking rather than additive. It doesn't seem to work in the way that it should and two 10% increases for instance would actually net a 100% increase instead of 20%. I've tried to work around it but havnt found a good solution as of yet, but it is still being explored.

@Michael, I will be slowly working out these kinds of things in the near future. Currently all my time is being dedicated to updating the mods that need it most(Spell Sneak attacks right now). I will be re-updating in the not so distant future cleanier versions of all my mods but many of the changes that I accidently made during my early modding days shouldnt cause too many conflicts and would be very rare if they did.
