I always thought tht gold ingots can be turned into gold. Cool mod but a tip, one ingot should make 40 gold. Thats the basic number fro a ingot.

The Nicoltergeist you wouldnt get 100 gold becausemerchant s always sell it for a lower price

Actually, I wont download this. A gold ingot is worth 100 gold. And you can craft 50 gold with 1 gold ingot. So, I would rather SELL the gold ingot than to make half the price of gold.

I can see how this isn't entirely a cheat, because 1. Gold Ore I think isn't that easy to find, I don't find much of it around. I only know of one gold mine in the reach that has a lot of gold. 2. Why can't you make gold coins with gold ingots? You can make intricate Daedric armor, or all the other kinds, but not gold? the Jarls, Empire, Thalmor(Who I kill anyway), or anyone shouldn't be able to know the difference between the fake and real coins.

If your gonna do a mod like this add a mint to craft gold from. otherwise its a bit unrealistic; isnt
it?

People using the forge to make gold exploit the hell out of it to turn Ore > Ingot > Coins > Ingot > Coins > Ingot indefinitely and max out their smithing skill for virtually no cost. Simple Gold Smithing doesn't allow that exploit either.

And hell, if people want to cheat, cosole: player.additem f 999999999 will give you 999,999,999 gold with no need for a mod.

If this were a realistic mod, you'd have to do the smithing at your own forge or at night if using a blacksmith's forge. Doing it in the day near the smith or a guard would give you a large fine :P

Someone else actually made this mod, after doing the math by weight of ingots in real life and came to the conclusion that 1 gold ingot is roughly 401 gold coins. They rounded it down to 400 in their mod.

The mod is called " Simple Gold Smithing " (<-- click link), if you'd like to take a look at it.

"Seems Legit." is a meme I've always wanted to say :3 But also to note this actually makes alot of since... A gold bar should be worth more, but at the same time... Why not smith your own gold coins? I mean other than the fact you shouldn't have a copy of the impinting seal of the Imperial Septim.... Sounds like your forging illegal copy money :0 I'll do it!

Hasn't this been done a lot of times before?
