Hey everyone! I just posted this in the Steam Greenlight under "software"! Please go there and vote for it... We are also selling the PRO version in the Unity Asset Store. You can also download a demo version (link is on the Greenlight page as well as our website ). @Xzodia Thank you for the thoughtful notes. We are working with Exit Games and their Photon Cloud technology to bring multiplayer to Axis Game Factory. And we also definitely have plans to bring AGF to tablets and mobile devices. :)

@Kuroato Thank you for the detailed feedback. Wehn this concept first came about it was more like a digital playground. Just building, and sharing, and playing. We are seeing more and more people want it to be a straight engine that they can monetize from/import their own assets. And our company has officially taken a stance that we will offer a PRO version at launch for those wanting to import custom assets and sell their creations instead of just sharing to the community.

i can make a hero using a template? and i can write a story to share with my buddys in game form? AND it's basicly free?! i don't care about selling games, but making gifts for people with ease sounds like my kinda software. i can't wait! thank you very much in advance!

really you don't make it clear at all... so you may want to rethink how you are promoting this and be 110% clear about what this really is, because again (in my opinion) I think most will mistake it for a Game Engine... which it kinda sort of is but not according to your response... very confusing and frustrating to be honest from my perspective... I personally would not invest any of my money or time into this... because it just does not make sense... looks like a Game Engine, Acts like a Game Engine, but it's Not a Game Engine? and I'm only limited to Sharing with others? hmmm i don't know...

Ok, thanks for the response... but really this is NOT A GAME ENGINE??? I'm sorry but i'm not trying to bash your project, but a Game to Create Games... really does not make sense... at least in my book. I think Most people who come across this will mistake it for a Game Engine that can be used to Create their own Games that they can share and SELL! I mean honestly from your Description alone above... there i NO MENTION that this is a Game to Create Games and You Can't Sell Games with it, if you use it... I think you will find alot of angry or confused end-users as Not everyone will read and understand everything in fine detail... and from me watching the Video and Reading the Description I don't get the impression at ALL that this is a GAME to Make GAMES that I can't sell...

In looking at your kickstarter options, it did not look like there was an option for a single person to take advantage of all the expansion paks without buying 10x. Is it possible for you to come up with a 1x option that would include all the things in the Plant Manager option?

@(PIG)Mikey Again, this isn't meant to be a design tool. Although it looks like it might eventually become that, but that is for PRO users and industry professionals. The main audience for Axis Game Factory right now is the basic gamer or budding designer. Having a tool to easily create a game and not worry about modeling or knowing how to code. And, in my opinion, a free game based on your book would be a really cool thing to do for your readers. You could make them sample demos to see the interest and gauge from there whether it is worth it to take the time and resources to create a game for market :)

@Kuroato This isn't a game engine. It is a game to make games, explore your desire to create and design games with the assets provided and then share with the community. Think LBP2 on steroids. You will be able to create action games, platformers, sidescrollers, and 1st/3rd person shooters with this software at launch with plans to deepen the available code sets and interfaces to make almost any game imaginable down the road. Sharing with the community awards you points in the Factory which you can use to purchase more assets and features.
We have heard a lot about wanting a PRO Factory to sell your creations and we will be looking into that once the basic Factory is out for people to use and share there creations for the love of designing and playing!

@9ofWands ok caleb is really annoying but some of what he says I agree with. I have a series of books that I am writting and I would love to turn them into games to maybe sell along with the E-books or something along those lines. Your concept grabbed my attention immediately but the fact that you are unable to sell what you work on is kind of a buzz kill. I would like to know if you are able to edit any of the assets with a 3d modeling program like maya or something to that effect? kind of like in the game darkspore; how you could manipulate multiple features of your heroes and make them look completely custom.

I am very interested in seeing what can be done but I do not really have the money to put into a program that I'm not sure will bring me anything other than personal enjoyment of customizing something already created.

3. FPSCreator Reloaded is going to include the ability to create FPS Games and Third Person Shooters Games and allow you to sell your games using the Asset Packages they include, and also those that you buy. So how will this Engine Compare or be better than FPS Creator Game Engine? (which seems to be the best easy-to-use game maker on the market right now)

4. depending on your answer above... if we are not allowed to sell games using your Asset Packages for whatever reason, are you going to Release other Asset Packages that will allow you to sell the Games then?

Hello there, this looks really cool! but I have some Questions... I just read below that you can't sell any games you make with this Engine of yours? am i reading this correctly? are you saying we can't sell games we make with it if we used your asset packages, and or our models? can you clear this up?

1. Under what conditions can we sell our Games Created with this Engine?

2. if we can't sell games with this engine using your asset packages then whats the point of this easy to use engine? I would just go and Buy FPSCreator Reloaded when it's out as they allow you buy asset packages and sell your games with it.

There will be a free to play aspect of the tool with basic building blocks and a controllable character. Purchasing content gives you more variety and possibilities as well as unlocking some "deluxe" features.

Teaching Game Design students. We have had University professors reach out and express interest in using the Axis Game Factory in their classroom.
Who doesn't own the 3D models? When you purchase packages of models to build with they are yours to use in your games forever, but no you can't sell the game since any games created via Axis Game Factory because they are inherently made to share for free.

The reason to use Axis Game Factory is to be able to create and explore design without having to worry about how to model or program. This tool is more for teaching and recreation than using it to sell you game. For me, personally, it is like when I used to play the original Sims. All I did was build houses over and over. I hardly played the actual game. It was about what I could create :)

We appreciate the feedback in whatever form. We are looking to see exactly what the community wants and that is: Even more customization. We hear that and we are working on how we can make the tool more diverse. Though Caleb is being a bit harsh, he is somewhat correct. If everything is given to the player and all you do is drag and drop, it is more of just a level editor. There would be very few games that could be created with the pre-existing content and then released without them all looking the same.

"Become a real game designer by sharing your final game to the community to play for free and earn status within the community"
Makes it sound like users do not own the rights to sell their games.

"Update your warehouse inventory by purchasing new kits, themes and features"
Makes it sound like users cannot add their own models, scripts, etc. and are forced to purchase them from you guys.

@Caleb The new Unreal does look powerful, but it is still based on tweaking code, and where will people not versed in 3D modeling get the art they want? Axis Game Factory is all about simplifying the process by giving you an easy interface to tweak code parameters on characters and the world without the daunting task of trying to read and understand code all while providing you a warehouse of art assets :) AGF could easily be a stepping stone for people to get comfortable with design and then plunge into a more intense engine like UDK.
