Thats no problem - It seems to work fine for me anyway!
mentilreq  [author] Jul 6 @ 11:40am
@Asayake I completely forgot that this mod relies on the Skyrim Script Extender to work so it won't work on consoles. I has been a long time since I worked on this mod, so it completely skipped my mind.
Asayake Jun 29 @ 5:28am
thats fantastic thanks again!
mentilreq  [author] Jun 28 @ 5:58pm
@Asayake Yes I do plan on uploading this mod and others to the workshop.
Asayake Jun 28 @ 4:07pm
p.s. Is there any chance you will upload the optional modding file - available on nexus - on the workshop too?
Asayake Jun 28 @ 4:05pm
I really love this mod. Highly highly recommend people try this out. Simple and Works really well! Thanks
Jo★Ёrudite★Marksman May 1 @ 6:35pm
easy, simply ,and useful, thank you
Rodjah Oct 14, 2015 @ 5:05pm
@mentilreq If you want, I can happily help ya with any translation you need.
mentilreq  [author] Oct 14, 2015 @ 3:52pm
@Rodjah I don't speak any Spanish, however, if someone would like to create a Spanish translation I would be ok with that.
Rodjah Oct 14, 2015 @ 3:19pm
Hey man, any chance for the spanish version? I'm still patient hahaha
Werde Spinner Aug 22, 2015 @ 8:50pm
Have installed SKSE and this mod is now working perfectly. I'm so happy to see lanterns lighting up those dark corners of my basement! :)
mentilreq  [author] Aug 22, 2015 @ 3:35pm
@Werde Spinner This has been up for almost three years and I hadn't noticed the SKSE requirement wasn't mentioned. Thanks for pointing it out. I have added it to the top of the description.
Werde Spinner Aug 22, 2015 @ 10:33am
Oh, does this mod require SKSE? I didn't see it mentioned in the description so I thought I would be fine. I guess that's my problem, then.
mentilreq  [author] Aug 22, 2015 @ 6:21am
@Werde Spinner Do you have SKSE installed? If so make sure you are lauching the game with "skse_loader.exe". The video above shows how it should work if everything is installed correctly.
Werde Spinner Aug 21, 2015 @ 4:25pm
Sadly the candles aren't even giving me the option of locking them in place. I don't know if it's because I spent so much time fiddling with them trying to get them where I wanted or not. Does picking them back up into your inventory and setting them down again mess up that option?
mentilreq  [author] Aug 20, 2015 @ 5:30am
@Werde Spinner Once the candle is locked in place, activating it again will light/extinguish the flame. Use the "Grab" button to add it back to your inventory.
Werde Spinner Aug 19, 2015 @ 8:07pm
None of the candles give me the option to activate the flame on? :(
mentilreq  [author] Apr 28, 2015 @ 6:54pm
@Rockjah I'll have to check and see how it's done.
Rodjah Apr 28, 2015 @ 6:02pm
Aww no... it doesn't, would you please do it for the spanish version? This mod is so useful for breezehome dark places and I wish to improve them in my gameplay. I beg you to give a hand to this poor latino player!
Rodjah Apr 28, 2015 @ 10:22am
Man does it work in the spanish version? cos I can't see the msc option to craft candles.
elemental_prod Mar 31, 2015 @ 9:57pm
super mod! Many of my houses and hangouts are now looking far better! Makes great use of mammoth snouts, finally. The variety of candles is a huge bonus. Can't recommend highly enough for those wishing to add to their game.
morgan.pete81 Nov 8, 2014 @ 10:22am
This mod is beyond awesome. I would have to say it is one of my favorites!
I was just laying torches around my houses to light them better until I found this mod.
Its simple, elegant and easy. Plus, and I don't know if its just on my system, but if you put a candle in front of a mannequin its less likely to displace itself from its stand (an annoying bug).
Big thumbs up for this mod!

Lamps set outside of my hearthfire home disappear. They stay for a period of time but I guess when the outside area refreshes they are lost. One was left but it was in the ground, could not be activated or picked up. It may be that the others dropped through the maping.

Lamps inside the home were not affected.
tyndal Sep 24, 2014 @ 3:19pm
Secondary odd but I like it..
if I console the wizard lamps with the long base, I get the ones looking like the no base.
the regular no base dropps to the ground as normal.
the one that should have a base drops to the ground and on clicking it, jumps to the air at a 45 degree angle hovering.. and when lit straightens out. it is a hovering light because it has no base. looks cool like that,

again may just be with me and testing it,
tyndal Sep 21, 2014 @ 9:13pm
It's just being a little buggy for me. I have about 20 filled petty gems and it also seems to dislike stolen silver ingots.

This was exactly what I was loking for in a mod anyway, Thanks for building it.
mentilreq  [author] Sep 20, 2014 @ 8:57pm
@ tyndal The only time the Wizards Lamp requires a petty soul gem is when crafting it at the forge. If it isn't appearing at the forge make sure you have a Filled Petty Soul Gem in your inventory, an empty one won't work.
tyndal Sep 20, 2014 @ 7:51pm
having a small issue with the wizards lamp not seeing the petty soul gems in inventory at times.
tyndal Sep 20, 2014 @ 3:10pm
Nice mod. I always hate the basement area in a hearthfire house. You could out up a few auto placed lights and that was it. I am now putting lights on my roof.. because I can.

There were always dark areas that I disliked. I use the alter for lutes and have them lined up but it was too dark. Skulls on a shelf.. detail lost.

Thanks again!
Veloric Sep 7, 2014 @ 7:54pm
hey mentilreq:
I love this mod and I have a request: please PLEASE add the script you used to make Wizards Lamp stand straight to make Candelabras and Candlestick work. Been trying to put those two in my Hearthfire house but to no avail----they always just fall onto the floor and there's nothing I can do to make them stand right

very awesome mod btw. Thank you
carter747 Aug 23, 2014 @ 6:47pm
I love this mod! Thank you! I love decorating the various houses with all the loot I collect, but they are normally so dim that you can't really appreciate the details in the weapons and armors.
Roscaria Aug 3, 2014 @ 10:11am
Thanks for the reply. When I was playing Skyrim today there was a small metal shrine base I believe it was in Fellglow keep (replaying Skyrim) that may have been suitable for a base. Anyway thanks again for thre prompt reply. I have also downloaded two of your other mods today, great work!
mentilreq  [author] Aug 3, 2014 @ 7:20am
@Roscaria The Mara statue is open on the bottom that's why I added the base. Unfortunately I am no good with 3d modeling software, so I would need someone to close that gap for it to look right. As for adding an Azura lamp, I would probably make it a standalone mod.
Roscaria Aug 3, 2014 @ 12:01am
Quite a while back I queried whether the Mara lamp could be smithed without the clunky base but sadly got no respone. Hopefully this will eventuate and if so would you also consider making an Azura lamp with red flames?. She is the mistress of sunrise and sunset.
Sick&Tired Jun 29, 2014 @ 8:35am
Thank You. I have had high level [skilled] characters for so long I forgot about that Perk.. Sorry for the confusion..
mentilreq  [author] Jun 29, 2014 @ 7:52am
@Wanked One quick thing to check, make sure you have the "Arcane Blacksmith" perk. The Wizard Lamps require that perk.
mentilreq  [author] Jun 29, 2014 @ 7:34am
@Wanked I will take a look at it as soon as I can. It wouldn't be the first time that happened actually.
Sick&Tired Jun 29, 2014 @ 7:22am
The mage's Lamps have disappeared from the craft menu. They use to be there, and were my favorite exterior house lights. I reinstalled Skyrim , but that didn't help. I Unsubscribed , then Subscribed again , but that also did not help. Steam crashed thier servers a few times perhaps that muffed your build..
mentilreq  [author] Jun 6, 2014 @ 12:51pm
@Timesplitter I gave a thumbs up to your collection. There's some interesting mods in there I would like to check out, especially the player owned merchants.
Timesplitter Jun 5, 2014 @ 11:17pm
Skyrim Ultimate RPG Experience: All Expansions thanks you for your mod/mods made that have been implemented into the collection. It does require all the Skyrim expansions, but is composed of all the most promising mods ever made for Steam. Make sure to check it out at and don't forget to rate it.
jlpars75 Jun 4, 2014 @ 6:19pm
This is a mod I always think I can do without but I always resubscribe after the first hearthfire house. Big Like!!!
Zumoku May 13, 2014 @ 4:40pm
awesome idea!
mentilreq  [author] Apr 20, 2014 @ 8:28pm
@werewgrin The flickering is light sources clipping into one another when they overlap. There's not alot that can be done with it, it's just how the game works. All you can really do is experiment with the placement.
werewgrin Apr 20, 2014 @ 4:47pm
I seem to be having problems, and I'm not sure if it's the mod causing them or my computer..

I've put quite a few candles around my houses after installing a lighting mod that made it dark and dreary in there, and I've always had flicker problems. The candles cast light correctly on their surroundings when I'm close to them or when I look at them right (I stand in one spot and rotate the camera, and the light flicks on and off a couple times as I pan past it) and then they flicker off and stop casting light. Only the glow immediately around the candle remains.
I can post screenshots if need be.

I have tried changing my driver settings, altering every display setting I can think of in every way (from high to low in every combination) disabling my other lighting mod (changed nothing) and reordering my mod list. Nothing makes any difference. This is driving me NUTS.

Does anybody have any suggestions of other things to try? Or might it be a glitch with the mod? Thanks for any help!
mentilreq  [author] Feb 21, 2014 @ 8:21am
@HoneySuckle I was thinking about adding them early on and I just never got around to it. I think if I did make them, they would be part of a seperate mod so that I could use resources from Hearthfires without making this one dependent on another DLC.
HoneySuckle Feb 15, 2014 @ 9:34pm
Have you thought of adding goat horn candles? the ceiling ones as well?
Illusia24 Jan 13, 2014 @ 3:49pm
I missed this so much from Morrowind! Great addition!
Priella Jan 7, 2014 @ 2:53pm

Activation a bit tricky:
( not really.... just don't believe what the mouse over options tell you. lol. )

Once dropped from inventory, and placed using Hold E..
It only gives the mouse over option to " take " with E action button...
Just press E.. it didnt " take " it, at all. :)

Now, the option to "Activate Candelabra" is available using the E action button, as creator said.

If you Hold E to move it again.. it will then take it back your inventory.

so just a little strange.. and everyone probably could have figured this out on their own..
But, I thought I'd offer up this little info... just in case someone thought the mod didnt work.

IIIIIIIT works great and so lovely too. n___n
Fav'd and Liked.

Thanks Man I have dawnload It : )
mentilreq  [author] Jan 7, 2014 @ 8:24am
@skyrimlord17 ratchet335 No DLC is required for this mod. I do have another mod that adds additional lights that requires Dragonborn Here.
