Thank You. I have had high level [skilled] characters for so long I forgot about that Perk.. Sorry for the confusion..
mentilreq  [author] Jun 29 @ 7:52am
@Wanked One quick thing to check, make sure you have the "Arcane Blacksmith" perk. The Wizard Lamps require that perk.
mentilreq  [author] Jun 29 @ 7:34am
@Wanked I will take a look at it as soon as I can. It wouldn't be the first time that happened actually.
Wanked Jun 29 @ 7:22am
The mage's Lamps have disappeared from the craft menu. They use to be there, and were my favorite exterior house lights. I reinstalled Skyrim , but that didn't help. I Unsubscribed , then Subscribed again , but that also did not help. Steam crashed thier servers a few times perhaps that muffed your build..

@Timesplitter I gave a thumbs up to your collection. There's some interesting mods in there I would like to check out, especially the player owned merchants.

This is a mod I always think I can do without but I always resubscribe after the first hearthfire house. Big Like!!!

awesome idea!

@werewgrin The flickering is light sources clipping into one another when they overlap. There's not alot that can be done with it, it's just how the game works. All you can really do is experiment with the placement.

I seem to be having problems, and I'm not sure if it's the mod causing them or my computer..

I've put quite a few candles around my houses after installing a lighting mod that made it dark and dreary in there, and I've always had flicker problems. The candles cast light correctly on their surroundings when I'm close to them or when I look at them right (I stand in one spot and rotate the camera, and the light flicks on and off a couple times as I pan past it) and then they flicker off and stop casting light. Only the glow immediately around the candle remains.
I can post screenshots if need be.

I have tried changing my driver settings, altering every display setting I can think of in every way (from high to low in every combination) disabling my other lighting mod (changed nothing) and reordering my mod list. Nothing makes any difference. This is driving me NUTS.

Does anybody have any suggestions of other things to try? Or might it be a glitch with the mod? Thanks for any help!

@HoneySuckle I was thinking about adding them early on and I just never got around to it. I think if I did make them, they would be part of a seperate mod so that I could use resources from Hearthfires without making this one dependent on another DLC.
HoneySuckle Feb 15 @ 9:34pm
Have you thought of adding goat horn candles? the ceiling ones as well?
Illusia24 Jan 13 @ 3:49pm
I missed this so much from Morrowind! Great addition!

THIS MAYBE HELPFUL TO YOU~

Activation a bit tricky:
( not really.... just don't believe what the mouse over options tell you. lol. )

Once dropped from inventory, and placed using Hold E..
It only gives the mouse over option to " take " with E action button...
Just press E.. it didnt " take " it, at all. :)

Now, the option to "Activate Candelabra" is available using the E action button, as creator said.

If you Hold E to move it again.. it will then take it back your inventory.

so just a little strange.. and everyone probably could have figured this out on their own..
But, I thought I'd offer up this little info... just in case someone thought the mod didnt work.

IIIIIIIT works great and so lovely too. n___n
Fav'd and Liked.

Thanks Man I have dawnload It : )
mentilreq  [author] Jan 7 @ 8:24am
@skyrimlord17 ratchet335 No DLC is required for this mod. I do have another mod that adds additional lights that requires Dragonborn Here.
skyrimlord17 ratchet335 Jan 7 @ 8:20am
do I need a DLC ?
WickedSP00N Jan 7 @ 2:28am
This mod is great. So simple, adds immense amounts of atmosphere, thank you for your work!

bigwhitehound Oct 14, 2013 @ 4:57pm
Need more statues please.
Theodore-dee Sep 15, 2013 @ 7:20pm
how do you turn on the mara statu, and could you make more divine based lights
KaptainKrunk Sep 8, 2013 @ 9:15am
Love it. A necessity if you have interior darkness mods. Thanks much!
Vistorri Aug 29, 2013 @ 10:03pm
Now THIS is what was missing in Skyrim that made Morrowind player homes so good!
mentilreq  [author] Aug 8, 2013 @ 3:56pm
To anyone interested I posted instructions on how to increase the brightness of the candles on the Skyrim Nexus Click Here[skyrim.nexusmods.com]
mentilreq  [author] Jul 26, 2013 @ 4:28pm
@AvatarOfWar I have seen several others asking for additional recipes also, so I will be adding them as soon as I can. I have also been working on adding functional shrines to the shrine base.
AvatarOfWar Jul 24, 2013 @ 8:13pm
Possibility of adding more recipes for ordinary candles? Troll fat is in short supply. You can even use existing items in the game: beehive husks and any animal fat (mammoth snouts, goat legs, venison; all the raw uncooked stuff)
carolann0922 Jul 20, 2013 @ 6:54am
LOVE THIS MOD!! It brings so much more to my game! Thanks bunches!! xxooxx
Denaturat Jul 3, 2013 @ 11:02am
Great mod. I also hope you will add new light colors.
mentilreq  [author] Jun 26, 2013 @ 1:51pm
@carolann0922 It would work with the scripts already in place for the candles, only the models have to be made first. I could look later at what is already in the Creation Kit, I'm not very good at modeling.
carolann0922 Jun 26, 2013 @ 1:26am
Is it possible to make the fire bowl type light besides the candle lights and lanterns, or is that an entirely different coding/programming?
m8rt1n Jun 21, 2013 @ 3:16pm
Just the thing I was looking for to brighten up my houses. I might as well be living in a cave if I didn't have this mod.
mentilreq  [author] Jun 15, 2013 @ 7:07pm
To anyone interested I posted a seperate mod with craftable Torch Sconces (...stands?)
Torch Sconces
Gemenai Jun 15, 2013 @ 3:06pm
okay so there is a tiny "light of hope" to get more Lanterns and Candles^^
mentilreq  [author] Jun 6, 2013 @ 10:43am
@Roscaria I've been thinking about adding some more lights, I've just been stuck on Borderlands 2 and New Vegas for awhile.
Roscaria Jun 6, 2013 @ 1:58am
Void salts for the black light/flames?
Roscaria Jun 6, 2013 @ 1:57am
I LOVED the Mara statue with light. Is it possible to get a version of it without the clunky wooden stand, so it can fit on a bench etc?
Also would it be possible to have versions with red light (Fire salts) and Black light/flames (for the necromancers amongst us)?
Gemenai May 24, 2013 @ 12:44pm
I have a question to you. Could you make another source for candles? Like extracting wax from honeycombs and getting candles and honey as result ? (maybe even need a honey extractor instead of the cooking pot). Would work great hand in hand with another mod i have, which adds more bees everywhere.
Sry if there are any grammatical mistakes; my native language isn´t english.
drogan817 May 14, 2013 @ 7:22pm
I love this mod. There are several awesome housing mods out there and your mod allows for personal ambience.
mentilreq  [author] Apr 25, 2013 @ 9:01am
@Fierysaint Thanks for the comment, that made my day.
Fierysaint Apr 25, 2013 @ 4:24am
Wow! Its awesome to come back to the commentary of this mod and see how much people still love this one! A - Freakin - Men!
When i first played Skyrim the first screwed up thing i noticed is that you cant craft your own unique spells. The second bull sh#t thing i noticed was you couldn't place your own light sources! I was climbing a tower with a sniper rifle next to Bethesda Studios until I seen this mod. Then... (angelic chorus) Haaaalleluiah!... Haaaalleluiah!...
[OL]MUADRus Apr 12, 2013 @ 8:02am
Thank you! You made my dream come true! Starting from Oblivion i wanted to place lightsources manually in game (morrowind supported that) you are my hero! :)
Bonder Mar 29, 2013 @ 2:28am
omg!! wish i knew about this before - now placeable light sources that arnt just torch or lanterns! looks like i can do a lot with some great looking candles. Im pretty sure this would conflict with Wearable Lanterns, but it just might be worth it to drop that mod for this one. I would surely miss the torchbug/ firefly lanterns. but candles! finally

samueljosephrushing Mar 19, 2013 @ 7:55pm
Thanks for doing this once you find a modder that knows what he is doing you kinda get spoiled but flying globe lantern out of your butt had to look really funny!!!!!
samueljosephrushing Mar 19, 2013 @ 7:48pm
LOL
jtucsok Mar 18, 2013 @ 11:37pm
this is great for houses with dark corners :) thnks
mentilreq  [author] Mar 18, 2013 @ 8:27pm
P.S. I have finished the scripting part of the mod for the lanterns, but I am still working on the meshes. For some reason when you drop the lantern from your inventory it appears to come out the players backside and go flying (funny but not exactly what I was looking for).
mentilreq  [author] Mar 18, 2013 @ 8:25pm
@samueljosephrushing Nothing wrong with making a mod thats been done before your own way. Alot of mods out there have been done before, sometimes it's just not exactly what you are looking for so you make your own version. As long as you don't take something they made and claim it as your own of course.
samueljosephrushing Mar 18, 2013 @ 1:19am
Just to let you know I found a mod lanteras of solhime dont want to ask you to get called a copycat but it's in russian can't read it. Plus I like the way your lanteras work so if his don't work the way yours dose I would still like you to make the mod. (just a fyi)
samueljosephrushing Mar 15, 2013 @ 3:15pm
Thank You so much I will wait for it and theres no rush just when you have the time. once again thanks!!!
