2021 UPDATES SUMMARY
There have been major updates to this mod in 2021! Find a summary of the biggest additions and fixes below:
  • 4 New Factions added, with distinct skins, unit/weapon load-outs, and armory arsenals featuring dozens of new lore-friendly weapons:
    • Omega Squadron
    • The Peoples' Dragon
    • Pedigree Experimental (PEX)
    • Chestikov's CCA
These factions can be played by any player on any map using the IAM code. Any AI on maps in this pack can be made to use these new factions using the NEWAI code. See below for code functionality.
  • Added Adversus Machina, Hills of Peace, Omegadammerung, and Switchback, unique maps each with their own twists!
  • Enabled cloaking for Omega Squadron, CRA, and Peoples' Dragon units.
  • Taught AI units how and when to cloak and several cloaking tricks to use to their advantage in battle.
  • Fixed NEWAI for non-vanilla factions (BIG WIN!), allowing any map to be played as any combination of any of the available 8 factions against any combination of AI using the available 8 factions.
  • Fixed bugs with AI constructor scripts that allowed strange behavior.
  • Added multiple new cheats to enhance or modify the gameplay experience (see below).
  • Added an objectives-based cheat-code display to better visualize your current code, and provide tool tips on code functionality.
  • Fixed all internal script timers so that they are independent of framerate.
  • Converted all maps to type LuaMission to mitigate crashes when saving/loading.
  • Added intermittent biometal meteor showers on certain maps.
  • A hundred or so other minor bug fixes!

The bonus instant action maps from the Omega Squadron Map pack are headed to Redux.

If you're looking for the single player campaigns and namesake of this map pack, you can find them on the workshop here:
Omega Squadron
The People's Dragon

Included in this pack are the base vs. base, player versus AI Instant Action maps that were originally included in the Omega Squadron Map Pack. These maps are based on their Strategy and MPI counterparts, (some of which can currently be found in the Omega Squadron Multiplayer Map Pack) but are adapted for Instant Action with a few tweaks. They all utilize the base-building, advanced-strategy-changing AI featuring in Omega Squadron MPI/MPM maps. You will get tanks, APCs, walkers, howitzers, bombers, and sometimes a little of everything sent against your base. The AI will build a base from scratch and rebuild it if it has enough scrap. It will lay minefields to impede your progress. It will use its armory to upgrade and repair its units and defenses. ...Good luck!

Current Maps:
Craters, Mars Fate, Strain III, Icesabre, Vulcanus, Tharsis Mons, Beachhead, Chthon, Hemorrhage, Altar, Adversus Machina, Hills of Peace, Omegadammerung, Switchback

Coming Soon™:
Demotion, Alecto, Nemesis, Crux, Fafnir, Convergence

CHEATS:
The Omega Squadron Instant Action Map pack includes several modded cheat codes to expand gameplay and increase replayability! (These cheats only work on maps in this pack)

CTRL+SHIFT+IAM[FACTION] - removes player units and gives the player a recycler and scout of the named faction. [FACTION] can be any of (no quotes): "NSDF", "CCA", "BDOG", "CRA", "OMEG", "PDRA", "PEX", or "FCCA". (EX: IAMPDRA will give you a People's Dragon Recycler and scout, or IAMFCCA will give you a flanker and a CCA recycler with fury building capabilities.)

CTRL+SHIFT+NEWAI[NUM][FACTION] - removes the units of the specified AI team (first AI team is 1, and so on) and generates a new recycler and a few units of the specified faction for that team instead. Examples: NEWAI1NSDF will remove the units of the first AI team, and give an NSDF recycler and units (NEWAI1CCA would do the same but replace with CCA recycler and units).
CTRL+SHIFT+LEMNOS - gives the AI an absurd amount of scrap (the codes DEATHWISH and BRINGITON have the same functionality)
CTRL+SHIFT+LANDER - gives the player a Lander
CTRL+SHIFT+CLOAK - gives the player double the cloaking
CTRL+SHIFT+STRATLOCK - prevents the AI from changing strategies
CTRL+SHIFT+ACHILLES - makes the ground very unstable
CTRL+SHIFT+UPGRADES - gives upgrades to a few units
CTRL+SHIFT+RAVE - gives out rave guns like candy
CTRL+SHIFT+GOOFBALL - get a random secret weapon!
CTRL+SHIFT+MINISNIPES - a repeating sniper machine gun?
CTRL+SHIFT+CRICKET - I feel like imma break this damn thing!
CTRL+SHIFT+SPY[NUM] - Set the perceived team of your tank to the team number entered. Units of this team will treat you as an ally until you attack them. (E.g., "CTRL+SHIFT+SPY2" will set your perceived team to 2)
CTRL+SHIFT+XWING - Stay on target!
CTRL+SHIFT+TIE - Rebel scum!
CTRL+SHIFT+WARBIRD - This baby would be right at home on a D'deridex class.
CTRL+SHIFT+ENGAGE - Don't forget to rotate modulations for the borg.
CTRL+SHIFT+ANTIMATTER - Fire a full spread!
CTRL+SHIFT+CLOWNCAR - If we all just squeeze in here, it shouldn't be a problem.
CTRL+SHIFT+STALINGRAD - APC with guns, but this time its Russian.
CTRL+SHIFT+SINGULARITY - Don't put this thing at the center of a planet.
CTRL+SHIFT+FOUNTAIN - Pretty, and effective!
CTRL+SHIFT+NEEDLER - Fear the pink mist.

EVEN NEWER:
CTRL+SHIFT+MULTISCRAP - Causes scrap pieces to be worth 2 scrap each, just like in multiplayer!
CTRL+SHIFT+ROMESKI - Furies descend on you! Periodically random furies will descend on the map to kill anything from any human team.
CTRL+SHIFT+CHESTIKOV - He has unlocked the ultimate fury technology. Causes any CCA AI to build Fury Hybrids on occasion. Does not affect player units (See CTRL+SHIFT+IAMFCCA for the player).

CTRL+SHIFT+CLEARAI[NUM] - Removes just the AI faction at the [NUM] index provided. Useful for making maps with multiple AI teams in to 1v1 matchups
CTRL+SHIFT+PEGASUSLOST - Prevents the custom AI from utilizing their newfound knowledge of cloaking technology
CTRL+SHIFT+NEXTSTRAT - Causes the AI to select a new strategy and build different units
CTRL+SHIFT+TAKEPITY - Generously gives the AI 200 scrap
CTRL+SHIFT+MEDIUMWELL - Limits the amount of scrap the AIs can have ("Medium Difficulty")
CTRL+SHIFT+TAKEITEASY - Severely limits the amount of scrap the AIs can have ("Easy Difficulty")
CTRL+SHIFT+PERSEID - ???
CTRL+SHIFT+RAINOFFIRE - ???

Notice that with the combination of the IAM and NEWAI cheats, it is possible to play any of these maps as any of the 8 available factions (NSDF, CCA, Black Dogs, CRA, Omega Squadron, People's Dragon, P-EX, or Fury CCA), against any other of these factions!

Be aware that these maps were balanced with medium difficulty in mind. If you like to play on very hard you should expect it to be... very hard... to win! If for whatever reason you're still finding the missions too challenging, please consider trying the MEDIUMWELL or TAKEITEASY codes (see above) to improve your experience!

Please post thoughts, comments, bugs, wishes and hopes below!

I noticed whenever you place a sprite mine the game crashes. I compared the sprtmin.odf file from this mod to the same file in the People’s Dragon campaign, the version in this mod has been changed.

After I copied the file from the People’s Dragon campaign to this pack the sprite mine worked again.

So, in terms of adding additional AI, how do you set up things like alliances and what not?
ScrapPool  [készítő] 2022. febr. 10., 8:06
... no, that's not correct. I would invite you to consider doing a compare (in notepad++ or whatever you use) to your scripts.
Herp McDerperson 2022. febr. 10., 7:12
you re-wrote the scripts from scratch without any save/load functionality whatsoever ...
ScrapPool  [készítő] 2022. febr. 10., 0:32
I would also say that these map breaking bugs are the reason I didn't just blanket accept the updated scripts that Herp sent over last summer and include them in the mod, as much as I appreciate his interest and involvement! It takes hours of time both for me to understand precisely the changes hes making (and make sure that they'll work...) but also that crude tools like find and replace didn't break other parts of scripts (as they did on more than one occasion in this case). I really just didn't have time last summer! In short, apologies for the long delay here, and thanks to Herp for his suggestions/fixes.

Hey all! Just thought I'd drop in to say that I finally had a few 8 hours this afternoon to properly go through and do some QA testing for Herp's "Unofficial Patch", and implement a few of his suggestions! In total I fixed 5 script/map breaking bugs introduced by Herp as part of his script changes, and in the process also fixed 1 script/map breaking bug that was there before his patch, as well as 3 other minor quirks/bugs that were also almost certainly present "pre patch". See change notes for the full details!

I'm a bit disappointed in myself that I haven't stated this in this particular location, but I have a partial patch for this pack I made several months ago. It's not perfect... ScrapPool admittedly did some cool stuff but he did it in such a way that save/load functionality was impossible - it was if he thought he was writing scripts for MPI.
My patch fixes most things but, for example: Any existing minelayers, APCs, howitzers and the like that had special code to make them function in a useful way for the AI enemy will cease to function. By this I mean any that are ALREADY ON THE MAP at the time of your save game. Any new ones built would function fine.
To fix the mod fully seems like it might be a lot of work especially since I am not exactly a programmer. It's really a shame that he left the mod in this state and then kinda disappeared given how cool the changes were...

Anyway, I'm not sure that I can post links here but the workshop ID of my patch is 2531253809

Thanks TUG, it works. Thanks a lot. Do you have issue that "F" can not be typed in the code?
TUGG3RNUTZ 2021. máj. 26., 19:47
FTD.2007 I had the same issue, if you use the cheats to change yourself to any of the factions, it will reload and give you scrap. It's not a fix but it's a work around that worked for me.

Hello There,
When I launch the Adversus Machina. It pops up a window that :
Lua script update error:
[String "ADVMCHNA.LUA"].586 Attempt to call global "supplementFuriesSilent"(A nil value)

-----
So after I click ok, I only have a recycler and me in the tank, no scrap. pilots are okay(30/30)

Could you check this one? I really love this map.
