Merging "Seasons" and preparing for December launch

As of this post we're in the top10 of Greenlight. Assuming nothing bad happens, we might get in on the November 30 greenlit games list.

That said we're going to go ahead and merge "Seasons" in No Time To Explain. It was the idea that we initially released one part of the game, and then another. With the Steam release that wouldn't make much sense. It's a single game that we're reworking to feel a lot better.

Assuming we get Greenlit on Nov 30, the release would be early December. Launching before Christmas is a big deal because the biggest sales peak is just around Christmas, especially for smaller games.

No Time To Explain is a game about Time Paradoxes, Jetpack Guns and Ribs In People's Eyes.

It's a comedy game featuring great music, voice acting and gameplay that becomes more ridiculous as you go.

This is a "WTF Is" video by TotalBiscuit - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vXi5tA4VVm0 - note that he experienced bugs that were fixed since his build. But it does give you the spirit of the game.

So far we've made 2 "Seasons" of the game, which means we released the initial game a year ago, and last december we did a major "Season 2" update for free to all fans.

Right now we lack distribution and if we got on Steam, it'd make sense to continue doing more Seasons for fans.

The game we are submitting contains major improvements over everything we've done -- especially in regards to bug fixes. Unfortunately our initial release had several unforseen bugs which we have now ironed out.

As you can see from TotalBiscuit's "WTF Is..." video, the game is all about comedy and platforming. However the issues he encountered are fixed.

  • Fight sharks!
  • Jump on stuff!
  • Play fullscreen!
  • Perform awesome dance moves while wearing collected hats!

The trailer reminded me of Robert Heinlein short story "By His Bootstraps" where time traveller meets himself 3 times at 3 different periods and a similar line used no time to explain....
