Octodad: Dadliest Catch is the sequel to the splash hit, Octodad! This time, our cephaloprotagonist has gotten himself in a bind between his wife’s mounting mistrust, and a disastrous trip to the local aquarium! Are you dad enough to control the titular octopus father as he strives to hide his nautical nature from his family while keeping his tangled tentacles intact?

The FIRST Octodad is still available FOR FREE at http://www.octodadgame.com/. This game on Greenlight is THE SEQUEL and will not be free as we are putting much more work into making it a great/full experience.

A third person adventure game about destruction, deception, and fatherhood.

The player controls Octodad, a dapper octopus masquerading as a human, as he goes about a day of his life. His existence is a constant struggle, as he must master mundane tasks with his unwieldy boneless tentacles while simultaneously keeping his cephalopodan nature a secret from his human family.

The player controls Octodad like a marionette, dragging his arms and legs around while his body flops along. The player’s goals are often simple household chores made interesting by the flailing, tenuous control they have over Octodad’s body. Being an octopus also has its strengths. Octodad can slip through tight spaces, grab objects with his suckers, and knock things around with tremendous strength. But if the player does things too out-of-the-ordinary, Octodad’s family will grow suspicious and realize what he really is. If they do, it’s game over for Octodad!

The game is both fun and funny, but that only gets you halfway. Whether it’s imposter syndrome, social anxiety, hiding something, or just feeling like sometimes you give something your best and it’s not enough… Octodad taps into a deep primal fear of being something that’s “other” and trying to hide it. When you combine innovative controls, pleasant aesthetics, with a universal sense of fear you end up with a great game. I can’t wait to play the whole thing.
