Even as a beta, it has a high level of polish some released games take a while to reach.

The game, I feel, is a lot of fun, and I'm not always a big puzzler fan.
Originally posted by Screen Shaped Eyes: can’t help but be impressed by the simplicity of the concept. InFlux is openly and proudly a puzzle game and sticks starkly to that promise... It’s a game that has a clear principle of design behind it, supported by almost idyllic aesthetics and is worth the few seconds it takes to vote.

Check out some hands-on previews of the game at Destructoid, IndieGameMag, GamersDissent, Northernlion, Pixabyte, RipTen[], Screen Shaped Eyes[], and IndieStatik[]. (Spoilers: everybody digs it).

InFlux (by Impromptu Games) is a puzzle game that mixes exploration and puzzle platforming in a series of beautiful natural and abstract environments. You are a mysterious metal sphere which falls from the sky, traversing an apparently deserted island dotted with cubic structures of glass and steel. Each glasshouse is a puzzle to be solved.

The game is being developed for Windows and Mac on the Unreal Development Kit.
  • Sit in a comfy chair and become as relaxed as you have ever been while playing a video game
  • Solve a series of mind-bending cubic puzzle structures connected by...
  • A series of beautiful, naturalistic hub world environments to roll around
  • Meet a majestic and enigmatic humpback whale
  • Works great with keyboard and mouse or your Xbox 360 controller
  • A completely original soundtrack by musical genius Jonathan Yandel[]

Tentative system requirements:

  • Windows XP SP3/Vista/7/8 or OS X for Mac
  • 2.0+ GHz processor
  • 2 GB system RAM
  • SM3-compatible video card
  • 2 GB Free hard drive space

  • As above but with higher numbers

Who are these guys?

Impromptu Games is an indie game development company based in Melbourne, Australia but involving people from basically everywhere through the magic of the interweb. It started in 2008 with a community mod project on the Penny-Arcade forums (Shotgun Sunrise) and continued to get out of hand from there. Since Shotgun Sunrise, we’ve shipped a spin-off iOS and PC game, Vroom!, and we’re now working on this puzzle game called InFlux that you are going to just totally dig you guys.

Thanks everyone!

Hi, I'm not here to boost but promote your released game to over 500,000 real people [no bots are used]. My service is very cheap and I hope you will take me up on my offer.

I honestly feel that this game could've been so much more than it is, but I don't want to detract people from purchasing it as it still looks like it would generate a lot of fun. So why post this comment at all? Just to let the designers know that they have serious talent.

Congratulations on being greenlit! Are you going to give out Steam keys to those who bought the game on your website? Cause I just did, and that'd be great! :)
