Future of Taxinaut with Steam Direct

Description
Release date: 2018
About

Earn your living through what is perhaps the second oldest profession in the Galaxy: Taxi driver. Often full off loneliness, frustration and apprehension but sometimes wondrous and astounding, discover the galaxy as a Taxinaut.

Uncover the many extraordinary and often clandestine places of a galaxy where most large conflicts have been played out and races have lived together and mixed for millennia to form a landscape that is rich in variation but festering with depravity and corruption.

Fly a taxi in a completely open world: From glamorous entertainment planets to dangerous ghetto worlds. From tightly controlled administrative centers to wild alien outlands. From sacred burial planets to ancient abandoned landfills.

Interact with a large assortment of seedy aliens: business-men, lawyers, pushers, dope-fiends, exotic dancers, religious freaks, DNA peddlers, cloners, gangsters, cyborg zombies, corrupt politicians and holy-men and get them to divulge their secrets.

Features
  • Completely open world. Everything is discoverable right from the start.
  • Over 100,000+ star-systems each with an average of 3 habitable planets.
  • 80+ different planet types each with unique "hand-drawn" sites (a lot more to come).
  • Close to 100 different NPC portraits (a lot more to come).
  • Extensive list of topics to ask NPCs about: Ask any NPC about any topic you've discovered.
  • Simple interface completely controllable with mouse in one hand and your drink in the other.
  • You never have to start a new game: Content (more dialog, sites, items & NPCs) can be added into your current game after which it is there for you to discover just like the content that was there already.
  • Very moddable.

System Requirements

Windows 10 64bit, recent multi-core CPU (i5), at least 3GB of RAM completely available to the game and a dedicated graphics processor with at least 1GB of VRAM. Minimum and recommended display resolution is 1920x1080p. (The game has been tested on a Dell Alienware Aurora R4 with an i7-3820 CPU, 16GB of RAM, a GTX-580 with 1.5GB VRAM and a 1920x1080p monitor.)

We are aiming for Linux and Mac as well but these have not been tested. Also the actual final requirements are likely to be much lower but we haven't been able to test this yet.

Note: The game will feature very adult elements like those you might find in exploitation movies of the 1970s and 1980s (albeit in a hopefully entertaining manner).

Hey GDC thanks for the comment and the invite. I saw on your website that the closing date is somewhere in September. I'm definitely trying to get a good version together before the end of summer so I probably will enter this competition. Thanks for bringing this to my attention.
This looks like a fun, simple game.

We are running the Game Development World Championship and would like to see you participate. It's good for your visibility and won't cost you a penny.

You can check it out at www.thegdwc.com .

Good luck with the development!

Hi Daithiwalsh! I had to post my comment in two parts because Steam doesn't allow for more than 1000 words

Hey, hey daithiwalsh! Thank you sir! I am think about a demo. I'm not sure about it because it means more work that isn't really spend on the game as such. A lot is interlinked so if I take one thing out other things can't be "solved' sorta speak. But that's probably ok for a demo.

I guess the game is sort of like Euro Truck in the sense that you are constantly "driving" something from one place to the next. Just like in Euro Truck, you have to sleep or else suffer blackouts. You also have to eat and there are a lot of other "conditions" you can pick up.
