Wibble's Brutal Class Guide For Newbies
This is a brutal guide for newbies on classes and the weapons they use! This is a semi-serious guide!
HELLO IT IS ME AN EXTREMELY ANGRY FOR NO REASON BRITISH MAN WHO IS HERE TO TEACH YOU HOW NOT TO BE A SCRUB! YOU'RE PROBABLY WONDERING HOW A STANDARD LINE INFANTRY MAN FROM THE EARLY 1700s KNOWS SO MUCH ABOUT WW2 WELL DON'T ASK QUESTIONS YOU STUPID BOY YOU ARE HERE TO LEARN HOW TO PURGE NAZIS AND OTHER NON-SPECIFIC FOREIGNERS! NOW READ THIS ENTIRE GUIDE OUT LOUD SO YOUR PARENTS CAN HEAR YOU WHICH WILL MAKE THEM INCREASINGLY WORRIED ABOUT YOUR MENTAL WELL-BEING
LET'S START OFF WITH THE MOST BASIC CLASS IN THE GAME BUT YOU PROBABLY CAN'T HANDLE IT YOU PANSY! IF THE IMAGES ARE TOO SMALL CLICK ON THEM TO ENLARGE THEM YOU BLIND OLD NANNY! THIS SECTION WILL BE LONGEST AS I COVER SOME THINGS THAT EVERY CLASS HAS ACCESS TO! This is the riflemen, his weapon has one bullet per shot, he's got the IQ of a lemon and he dies a lot BUT BY GOD DOES HE TRY!
Let's start off with some incredibly simple scheisse! Every class has there own set of weapons and equipment that you get to chose on this menu screen the two most important things about this is the weight limit and supply points! The ammo box in the top right hand corner represents how many supply points you have, every weapon, attachment and piece of equipment costs a certain amount of points which is displayed on the item its self. As the round progresses you can get more supply points which allows you to get more stuff but thats where weight comes into play! This is the weight bar and you REALLY DON'T WANT TO MAX IT OUT! The more you carry the slower you are and speed can sometimes be of the essence! Carrying too much will make your sprint speed hilariously slow and it'll take you forever to get to the capture point! I BET YOUR WEIGHT LIMIT IS SO HIGH THE ONLY THING STOPPING YOU GETTING TO MCDONALDS IS THE WIDTH OF THE DOOR FRAME!
Lee–Enfield Mk 4
The Lee-Enfield Mark 4 is a beautiful piece of British engineering and by beautiful I mean 90% FECKING WOOD DO NOT SUBMERGE IN WATER! A shot to the head or torso usually kills in one shot but one shot is all you have when in close quarters which is why I highly recommend as a riflemen you should not storm into buildings like Rambo on crack cocaine!
Bolt action rifles are made for medium to long range. Close range is a death wish because you'll be up against SMGs like the MP40! When it comes to attachments there are two things that are absolutely essential and they are The greased bolt allows you bolt your rifle at lightning speed and the stripper magazine means that if you empty your rifle you don't have to slowly load in one bullet at a time. Now I'm going to cover the other attachments and why you don't really need them...
< The rifle grenade is basically a grenade launcher that you stick on the end of your rifle. This is something you should get if you have points to spare but I personally prefer hand grenades because they're easier to control.
< Bayonets add a little more weight and only if all the planets align will you actually get to use the fecking thing.
The sling is available for nearly every weapon in the game and it simply allows you to switch weapon faster, as a riflemen you won't be switching weapon very much but its up to you if you want it or not.
You do not need a pistol as a riflemen! They're expensive they weight more and you'll rarely be able to withdraw it in time! Don't do it son! Binoculars won't be much use to you, at all...Plus they weight more...YOU FAT FU- Pack your troubles in your old kit bag but wait you have two kits available wat do? The light kit is usually all you'll ever need, it gives you about 40 rounds and thats more than enough, a heavy kit weights a fecking ton and as a riflescrub you won't need it. and that pretty much covers the riflemen class...
"Bu wait wibbly u forget hand bombs???"
What the feck did you just fecking say about me, you little pansy? I’ll have you know I graduated top of my class in the British Army, and I’ve been involved in numerous secret raids on Tesco, and I have over 3 confirmed kills. I am trained in musket warfare and I’m the top toilet scrubber in my regiment, I clean toilets like they're nothing. You are nothing to me but just another toilet that needs to be scrubbed. I will wipe you the feck out with precision the likes of which has never been seen before on this Earth, mark my words. You think you can get away with saying that to me over the Internet? Think again. As we speak I am contacting my commanding officer to see if I can send you a strongly worded letter. It will be the storm that wipes out the pathetic little thing you call your life. You’re dead, kid. I can be anywhere, anytime, and I can kill you in over seven hundred ways, and that’s just with my toothbrush. Not only am I extensively trained in toothbrush warfare, but I have access to the entire arsenal of the Nigerian Armed Forces and I will use it to its full extent to wipe your miserable face off the face of the face of the planets face. If only you could have known what unholy retribution your little “clever” comment was about to bring down upon you, maybe you would have held your fecking tongue. But you couldn’t, you didn’t, and now you’re paying the price, you fool. I will crap fury all over you and you will drown in it. You’re dead, kiddo.
Grenades are getting there own section...
ASSAULT IS A CLASS THAT MOST NEWCOMERS PICK FIRST AND THEN WONDER WHY THERE RANDOM SPRAYING ISN'T HITTING ANYTHING! THEN THEY BLAME THE HIT BOXES, QUIT THE GAME AND GO BACK TO CALL OF DUTY! This is the assaulter, his weapon fires at the speed of light, he's got the IQ of a melon and he also dies a lot BUT BY GOD DOES HE TRY! The assaulters job is to do what the riflemen can't which is to rooty tooty point and shooty at close range. Speed is one of your greatest allies so keep your weight limit as low as possible when playing as this class!
Sten Mk. II
The Sten Mark 2 is a beautiful piece of British engineering and by beautiful I mean a cheap piece of crap that no other country wanted, the only other people willing to use these bloody things were the French rebels and thats only because they had nothing else to use. Seriously these things were very inaccurate during the war and some soldiers went as far as to call them useless.
In Day of Infamy however the weapon is pretty nice but has horrible iron sights. The only major thing that I need to say about this weapon and in fact all Assualt weapons in this game is that THESE ARE NOT ASSAULT RIFLES! They are SMGs! This means that at long range they're almost useless and if you're trying to shoot a riflemen he'll most likely get you first. Your job is to fight in close range, remember that! It is also important to NEVER SPRAY always fire in short controlled bursts, if you waste a whole magazine trying to shoot one German wearing snow camo in a forest you'll run out of ammo fast!
The Ithaca 37 was actually made by the burgers Americans hence the reason for why it actually works. Unfortunately in Day of Infamy its not much use, its very powerful and could stop a Panther Tank but it suffers in range. I very rarely see people using this and personally I don't use it either but if you are going to use it make sure you bring a pistol with you!
That pretty much covers Assault...He's not a very interesting guy hence the reason for why he's not very popular with the ladies. I ON THE OTHER HAND AM REALLY POPULAR WITH THE LADIES IN FACT I AM CURRENTLY DROWNING IN BOOBAGE WHILE I'M WRITING THIS QUALITY GUIDE!
ARE YOU STILL HERE? WAKE UP YOU SACK OF USED CONDOMS! This is the supporter, his weapon goes through bone like butter, he's got the IQ of a tea biscuit and he camps doors a lot BUT BY GOD DOES HE TRY! The supporter has the fun job of suppressing and tearing the enemy apart with his light machine gun of death! Obviously this guy does not run and gun, he finds the perfect place to sit then he nails everyone who comes into his line of sight, he's also very good at camping doors and hallways. One of the supports greatest abilities is to suppress the hell out of the enemy, most people don't suppress but they should because it can win you a game, for example, your teammates are advancing over an open field with very little cover, overlooking the field is a house full of pesky Germans, if you spray the windows continuously the Germans won't be able to shoot your teammates advancing toward it. You won't get many kills but you'll definitely aid in winning the game and winning is more important than a kill/death ratio. Another important thing to mention is that you need to carry a lot of ammo! Your magazines are big so you'll need a heavy kit. Sadly this means you can't buy a pistol... This of course will make you pretty slow but such is the life of the support class, forever doomed to a slow moving existence.
The Bren Gun is a light machine gun with a 30 round magazine, it was actually made by Czechoslovakia then modified slightly by the British who then used for fecking years so it can't be that bad.
The Lewis Gun is a big fat turd from WW1 invented by a burger American guy who tried to sell it to the burger US Army but they wouldn't have it so he sold it to us instead. This weapon has a much bigger magazine than the Bren Gun but it costs more supply points and it weights more. Plus it doesn't have a sling so the deployment speed is slooowwww...
PLEASE GOD NO CAN WE PLEASE JUST SKIP THIS ONE I DON'T TRUST ANYONE TO PLAY THIS CLASS NOT EVEN MYSELF OH JESUS CHRIST ON A BIKE PLEASE NO!!!
The Flamer has no IQ, dies constantly from his own flames and is literally a walking incendiary bomb! This is the Flamer, he's more of a threat to himself than he is to the enemy! The Flamer uses his oh so wonderful flame thrower to shower the enemy in liquid fire but a majority of the time he'll bounce his flames directly off the wall in front of him onto himself and his teammates causing everyone to die a fiery death!
If you're absolutely hell bent on playing this class for the love of God don't spray your flame thrower into buildings without confirming on the map that there aren't a bunch of teammates inside. Another great thing you should never do is fire at walls in front of you because you'll catch fire in seconds, I've watched countless players kill themselfs instantly without harming a single enemy. Oh and another thing, on your back is your fuel tank and if somebody shoots it YOU WILL EXPLODE! When you're not playing as a flamer I recommend you stay far away from them because if they explode near you then you will also go up in flames.
SUN TZU SAID TO TREAT YOUR SOLDIERS LIKE THEY'RE YOUR CHILDREN SO HERE'S A COOKIE SON! DON'T EXPECT ANYMORE!
This is the Engineer, he's slighty overweight so the British Army decided he was worthy to handle the explosives...We regret our decision.
This is the Engineer in all his glory, his job is simple, blow stuff up until there's nothing left...Not even his teammates will survive the blast...But in all seriousness the Engineer is a VERY useful class especially on maps like DOG RED. Basically he can use his TNT to blow open damaged walls making it easier for his teammates to advance, on some maps this is essential to your team winning as it can allow your team to penetrate enemy defences from a new angle.
This is his TNT charge, you light the 8 second fuse and throw it what more is there to know? Well actually just as a heads up I recommend not using this against infantry because its hard to throw correctly.
Projector, Infantry, Anti-Tank
The PIAT is a British made handheld mortar type thing that actually worked, I know its hard to believe, the British actually making a weapon that works. Unfortunately I hate this thing because I suck at aiming with it, it basically fires impact grenades overhead so you can fire it over cover at infantry but like I said, I suck at using it. Also its fecking heavy!
DON'T FALL ASLEEP ON ME NOW I GAVE YOU A COOKIE REMEMBER!
The Machine Gunner looks like a Meth addict so we gave him the biggest gun we could find, so far all he's done is smoke Meth though...
The Machine Gunner is very similar to the support but his machine gun is much much much bigger AND MUCH HEAVIER! All this guy does is exactly the same thing as the support class except he has a gaint feck me machine gun with a 250 round magazine, in fact he shouldn't even be able to carry this alone.
Vickers Machine Gun
The Vickers Machine Gun is a British made weapon based on the Maxim Gun invented in 1886. This gaint beast of a weapon was mounted onto Aircraft, Royal Navy boats and tanks. When used by infantry they would have to be put on a tri-pod because of how heavy they were...HOW THE HELL IS THIS GUY RUNNING AROUND WITH IT???
This is the Sniper, he destroys people's heads from far away, he has the IQ of a chair and he's usually the last man standing.
The Sniper is that quintessential class that every multiplayer game has and the Day of Infamy sniper is deadly on most maps. He basically sits far far far away from the cap zone, either watching the cap zone or watching an area leading to the cap zone, then he proceeds to pick off the enemy one by one until he's eventully found. When playing as a sniper its important to try and sit in a bush to better cover yourself, sitting ontop of a hill will get you caught instantly because players aren't that stupid. Its also important to keep moving, sit in one place for too long and the enemy will work out where you are through trial and error. Also, remember to not sit too far back, I've seen lots of sniper players play it too safe and they sit miles away from the cap zone where they can't even see anyone.
Lee-Enfield MK 4 (Scoped)
Its simply a Lee-Enfield with a scope stuck to it...Once again I recommend using the greased bolt which costs more for the sniper but its worth it. You also have a choice between a 7x scope or a 4x, the 4x costs more but its good for closer quarters maps but some maps are too close quarters for the sniper to be of any real use.
I LEFT THE MOST IMPORTANT CLASSES TILL LAST!
This is the Radioman, most of the time he doesn't do his fecking job and you all lose because of it. He also dies constantly because the noise from his radio gives away his position...Nice moustache though.
This is the Radioman and he is the key to success! He has the important job of following the Officer around like a lost dog doing nothing but dodging bullets and waiting for the Officer to yell commands into his back.
The Radioman only has one true friend in life and thats his radio, he'll run with his radio, play with his radio and die with his radio for it his is radio, there are many like it but that radio is his, without his radio he is useless, without him the radio is useless. All hail the radio.
In all seriousness a good radioman and a good officer can drastically change the game, without the radioman nearby the officer cannot do his job and his job is damn important! When playing as the Radioman you need to stay by the officer ALL THE TIME and don't die! This means avoid combat when your officer has his binoculars out and is trying to mark targets. If you want to play as a class that kills stuff go as a riflemen or something DON'T CHOOSE RADIOMAN FOR HIS WEAPONS! Also you're slow.
