The primary goal of the Vespa Mk-2 helmet, later named “Ampulex”, was to reinforce a relatively fragile frame, introduction of additional armour plates to the sides and front, and augmentation of the central cerebrum processing unit. Additional cooling and air ventilation systems also had to be installed due to the enormous amounts of heat being produced by the cerebrum-core.
This resulted in a heavier, robust, and more effective and defensive design that was, sadly, discontinued shortly after due to a heavy increase in development costs.

...And the fact that due to a small glitch in the system, 1 in 30 Nyxes with the Ampulex helmet installed had a tendency to spontaneously detonate the craniums of anyone within a 50m. radius.

-Update 2: After a sleepless night full of coffee and stale sandwiches, Ampulex Mk2.5 has been spawned! Or, actually, Mk2.7? Regardless, addressed cricticism about bump maps not popping, some textures being plasticky, added dirtier textures, battle damage, weathering, shading, balanced colours, resculpted minor parts of the helmet, cleaned and redid majority of emissives. Added super meaty textures to all of the organic parts of the helmet (very touchable). Might as well be Mk3 now.
