The Decemberist Common collective is an empire based on the song by The Decemberists, Cavalry Captain. (as seen in the video)

The Story behind the empire:

When founde r C.M. wrote literally hundreds of books in the late 20th century, Decemberism quickly rose in popularity throughout the world due to it's promises ranging from satisfaction, to nirvana*. In the mid 21st century it had become the prominent religion in the United States, and after a completely unrelated collapse of government the Common Collective and it's Devine Mandate was governing most of the land in the former United States. The following decades saw similar collapses of government that were in no way in relation to Decemberism, the Divine Mandate or it's rise*. Eventually the entire Earth was under the mandates control. "Optional Compliance" was mandatory. The Mandate saw fit in order to protect itself from more and more non-believers speaking up, chose to take to the stars and Imprint the founde r upon the stars for the sake of legitimacy.
