[Discontinued] Glassing the Planet

This mod is discontinued and will no longer be maintained.
If anyone still loves the feature, feel free to fork your own branch and leave the link to your mod.

Tired of landing and seizing planets that you do not want?
This mod allows you just to glass it into ruins!

After fully bombardment of a planet, you can choose whether to glass it or nuke it. Glassing makes a planet no longer colonizable.

Feature:
After a full or armageddon bombardment and the fortification health of the bombarded planet is reduced to 0, you can choose to
1. glass the planet. remove all creatures from the planet, and make the planet into an uncolonizable dead world.
2. nuke the planet. remove all creatures from the planet, and make the planet into a tomb world.
3. do nothing

Glassing a planet is only known in halo. The Covenant's ships are equipped with basically a death ray that is so hot that it "turns the ground into glass." its more of a extermination type of weapon that is used in halo reach. it is really cool concept

"glass it into ruins"...

"glassing" a planet means you bombard it until the crust of the planet is destroyed, leaving only molten residue covering the whole planet

which in turn, if it cools down, could create "glass" like substances

its impossible for a "glassed planet" to have ruins

Any update on a third party picking this up and keeping it going? I would love to have this as an option in my games again
