Easy secret level on the first and second floor (and other stuff) !SPOILERS!

Very easy secret room you can find and unlock on the very first floor.

This is a spoiler to anyone who wants to find all the games secrets by themselves. You have been warned.

Floor 1 Secret Level

So, like, 90% of the time you start a new run you are going to run into this room somewhere on the first floor:

The reason I say 90% is because there has been once or twice where I haven't encountered it.
Anyway, you have probably thought to yourself "Damn son, there has GOT to be something I can do in this room to unlock a secret!" Well, you're right. You probably already know that the only defining object in the room is the fireplace, right? Correct. So, with that in mind, we know that the fireplace MUST be what we interact with to unlock something... RIGHT?! YES!

You have to put it out. 'How?' you might ask. Well, usually in the room prior to this one, there is a water barrel. Go now and find it.

*NOTE* Sometimes you may shoot the barrel (or it might get shot by the bulletkin) during the fight once entering the room. No worries, check to see if there is another water barrel somewhere else in the map. I have found a few either at the shop or a few rooms away.

Kain.zpn and Camdog have informed me that both posion (from a poison weapon that generates puddles) and water weapons will extinguish the fire upon shooting it. Unsure about ice weapons or effects as of yet.

Next step. You're gonna want to kick it towards the fireplace room with the E button. Make sure you are infront of it after kicking it as to stop it once it has reached the distance you wish it to travel.

Once it's in the fireplace room, simply line it up with the fireplace (or along it's front if you are kicking it from the side) and give it a gentle yet firm kick. It will roll towards the fireplace and put it out, opening the grating in front of the fireplace.

Now go inside it to the back of the fireplace and press E. You should hear a small sound, like a ding or something.

Its going to add a new area to the map, you just have to look around.

Once you find it, enter it and it should look like this:

Please take note, it requires TWO KEYS to unlock this bad boy, so bare this in mind (you could probably use the pilot's lockpick to open it but its pretty risky, and just use a key for the other lock). If you decide to use the keys or actually get it open, jump on in and it will take you to this room.

What's in this new level? We will discuss that in the next section.

Secret level on FLOOR 2

OK, sorry for no pictures for this one]. This is from knowledge as after making the first part of this guide someone I follow on YouTube had uploaded a video on the same thing, but he managed to make it further. OK. So Moving on.

Managed to confirm a few things as I tried to do this myself as to provide images.

SECRET LEVEL: FLOOR 2

Ok, so once you have entered the first secret floor, named "OUBLIETTE", you have to go through the floor doing, you know, the usual. Eventually you will come to a room (this room MAY OR MAY NOT have a lock on it so make sure you keep at least one key with you just incase) that has a pedestal. On said pedestal there will be a piece of armour called "OLD CREST".

This is a very peculiar piece of armour as it stacks ON TOP of your current and future armor. This mean it will ALWAYS be the first peice of armour to get destroyed should you take a hit. Now. Dont take any hits as you will need this to access the next hidden area in floor 2.

I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND fighting this floors boss BEFORE picking up this item. Just a pro tip. yeah.

*USER Rip And Tear has informed me that, upon completing this levels boss FLAWLESSLY, you will be rewarded with an item called "space turtle shell" which is said to act as a 'little assistant gunman' although I myself cannot confirm this.*
I can now confirm this, you do infact unlock a new item called space turtle shell and I was able to complete it flawlessly. It unlockis in your Ammonomicon and is not physically dropped after defeating the boss, so open it up once you have finished off the boss.
Amundia has informed me that you unlock the space turtle shell regardless of whether you kill the boss flawlessly or not, so long as you kill him. I cannot confirm this.

Upon killing the boss flawlessly, however, I was not given a second pedistal with another item on it. Assuming there is no second reward for flawless completion.


Once you have killed the boss of that floor, continue to FLOOR 2, where the next hidden level is. WITHOUT TAKING A SINGLE HIT, find the room which is clearly the "HALL OF DEAD KINGS" (thats what I call it anyway). It will be a long room with 3 sarcophagus's on either side with a final one at the top in the middle. Behind it there will be an empty altar.

Go up to the Altar and put the OLD CREST on it. The sarcophagus directly below you will open to the SECOND SECRET LEVEL.

This area is called "ABBEY OF THE TRUE GUN" and is EXTREMELY DIFFICULT.

So thats how you get to the FLOOR 2 SECRET LEVEL. Not sure whats inside, as I myself have not gone in there, but this is to inform you on what to do.

I took down the floor 1 boss then got a ammonomicon notification that I unlocked the super shell, despite getting hit a couple times. So yeah, seems more like chance in the current patch to get it whether or not it's a flawless fight.

Great guide! I found the fireplace secret a long time ago but now i know the abbey of the true gun. im gonna try to get there but im probaly gonna die over and over again, if i can even get there.

I beat secret floor 2. I didn't find any noticable item, but I freed an undead character from a prison and unlocked a bloody bandana from beating the boss. I imagine the bandana and the character are somehow needed for the minecart that is the entrance to the secret level on floor 3.
