I figured out my own fix though, kindof. I set the game to K&M and use pinnacle profiler to map the movement to D-pad, as well as map the other button to the controller. I still don't have a way to map the wind dash to it's own button though (like the unused Y button).

Yeah and the wind dask is super hard to perform with an anolog stick. Being able to use the D-pad would make it somewhat easier and it would be nice to have the D-pad as an option anyways, though a better solution would be to have it's own button, like Crushmaster suggested. It really needs work, because as it is I cannot even perform a wind dash with my controller. I have to switch to K&M.

You should have the downward thrust attack work more like a pogo stick, where you can just hold it to keep bouncing off enemies. Zelda 2 and Shovel Knight have it like that and it feel way less clunky. As it is I just hold down and spam attack and hope for the best.

Congradulations on getting greenlit! This game looks so good. I can't wait till it's available on the store page.

Super excited for this. A few thoughts: definitely give wind dash its own button; giving us a bow would make me so happy; being able to run would be nice, as movement can be a bit slow. Overall, it looks super promising, and I can't wait for the full game.

The demo is really good, but for the love of god, give the wind dash it's own button. Too often do I try to do it and wind up just throwing fireballs, or trying to throw fireballs and I wind up air dashing at the worst possible moment. Double tapping a direction is a rather archaic form of dashing, which can be difficult in a game that either uses a keyboard or defaults it's directional input on a gamepad to the bloody control stick. Double tapping on a keyboard/d-pad? Okay. Double tapping on a control stick? It's hard as hell.

Loved this game.

But the dash abilitly needs its own button or a diffrent way to execute it.

Hurts your finger after a while and is generally just hard to use.

9.5/10 would buy

Suggestion on how to fix the controller issue:

Implement a way to check the POV, which is the D-Pad on many controllers. In XInput, the D-Pad is treated as buttons.

I always wanted something in place of the Monsterland series if Sega doesn't releasing a new title. This is perfect for that.
