Description
Balance of Trade contains radical changes to the trade routes mechanics. Trade Routes no longer provide scaling yield that can easy get into the high teens. Trade Routes provide a much more consistent and smaller yield that is more proportional to their production cost and similarly costed buildings. Internal trade routes also provide bonuses to new cities that help it get started but go away once the city builds a trade depot and can stand on its own.

Internal Trade Routes
  • By default provide zero yield.
  • Cities get +4 Production for every incoming trade route. This bonus goes away when the city builds a Depot.
  • +2 Food from: Clinics
  • +2 Production from: Repair Facilities and Thermohaline Rudders.

Foreign Trade Routes
  • By default provide zero yield.
  • +2 Energy from: Depots and Thorium Reactors
  • +2 Science from: Laboratories
  • Cooperating or Allying will increase the bonuses from +2 -> +3

Station Trade Routes
  • The Station Sentinel only provides +50% yield and requires float stone.

Tooltip clarifications
Everyone has a hidden +100% bonus to yields from Internal and Foreign Trade Routes. This is why the Clinic's tooltip will say +1 Food but actually give you +2 Food. This is also why Diplomatic Traits that increase your yield from Trade Routes provide less than expected.

Known Issues
  • Sometimes coastal cities get slightly more yields from International Trade Routes than intended.

hey nice mod thanks. any way to disable strategic resource trading? would be really nice since resources are the main reason to go to war/ plan cities etc.
